Morning, We are still suffering this error. We managed to get the extended version working, incidentally I didn't realise it required SSL which I hadn't turned on yet, which I have now. We cannot download a file using HAP however - using basic or extended modes. We just get the above error in the OP. I still cannot upload a file using HAP. I have attached these screenshots below to show you what I mean. It seems to work fine until you attempt to download a file. We have HAP running on one of our member Server 2008 servers, so I shouldn't think Interactive Logins should be causing this - it looks more like a code issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I wonder if your problem is similar to mine only I am getting the debugging info? http://www.edugeek.net/forums/home-access-plus/82912-object-reference-not-set-instance-object-when-trying-download-files.html I do have the same problem with the extended view but just assumed that this was these computers and was going to try from home later. Can you upload files or does that not work either?

Hi everyone, We have just installed the latest version of hap. All seems to be running well until we attempt to download a file from one of the mapped drives or upload a file to one of the drives. Firstly, we get the following server exception on file download: We can browse mapped drives/folders fine, see image thumbnails etc. I can create new folders fine. I cannot however upload to these mapped drives.. the Silverlight upload sits there and does nothing other than saying it is 'Checking'. If you try to use the basic HTML uploader we get the following server exception: Any help would be greatly appreciated. Like I say, we are using the latest version, on Server 2008 IIS 7.5. TIA

This is true. Google Apps isn't really a Moodle replacement as there isn't a lot of interchangeable functionality. Google Apps or Live@edu is more of something that compliments Moodle quite well in the terms of extra functionality.

Yes actually they can. They tried to get me onto ADSL through Virgin Media National or ntl National (something like that), I won in the end though - persistence is the key.

Would it not be simply easier to replace the Java news scroller with a JavaScript one? Java is a little bit heavy for such a task! Look at one of the JavaScript library's such as jQuery, YUI or Prototype - there are thousands or example news scrollers for those all with much better support in general for both browser and mobile devices.

It is also perhaps worth mentioning, that mobile devices, are perhaps some of the best poised devices out there to harness HTML5 technology at the moment. Smartphones tend to support this to the best they can. Not so scary if used sensibly!

I don't understand the 'App' obsession. There are so many installed apps out there that are simply over kill, where actually a web application or web page designed for a mobile device would be better (for example, look at Google's mobile webpages). Unless you NEED to hook into some of the phones advanced features such as screen rotation, then why do you need an installed app? Mobile designed web pages, if done properly are the better solution to so many apps out there - and of course you only need to maintain one 'app' then. Look into jQuery Mobile.

I take it you have NTLM enabled in Firefox? If I remember correctly, once upon a time you had to enable it in about:config. Having said that I haven't attempted NTLM in an app in a long time.

It will almost certainly be a proxy issue. PHP Curl will need this setting otherwise it won't be able to pass through the proxy to authenticate with Google. Either that or as mentioned above, a system proxy may fix the issue - though I am no *nix expert.

If you go down the force change password option, or provision an AD password to Google Apps keep in mind they seem to be enforcing the 8 character password minimum now. I know for kids - and some staff too - this isn't going to be pretty as they seem in my experience quite incapable of remembering long, stronger passwords. As I suggested earlier, some form of SSO is the best bet. Either using something like Shibboleth, CAS or if you run Moodle, through the Moodle Rooms Google Apps auth plugin. The problem with this form of authentication, as you can just set any password for the Google Apps Account, is if you users wish to have their email or calenders on a phone, or use Outlook to manage them.. this is when you need to start managing those users Google Apps passwords individually!

Has anyone managed to post things to their page using the Graph API? I am looking into this at the moment and seem to be having authentication issues with it. The documentation makes it sound simple for Groups, Profiles and Applications but for Pages it is a bit ambiguous!

The only way this can be done if I remember rightly, is if you have the option ticked in AD to store unhashed passwords. Some form of SSO using Shib or CAS would be a better solution but is a nightmare to setup.

Glee or some such crud will appease the girls. Family Guy might be a good generic one. Waterloo Road is probably also a good call. etc.

It is too close to Moodlemoot 11. I would go to it but there is no way this place will shell out for both trips when they are so close together, and reasonably so. I have a feeling the WebAnywhere one would be a glorified sales pitch too.

That sounds odd. It could well be a cache problem somewhere - have you tried all the usual with the browser, emptying temp files, cookies in particular? Is this happening for multiple users or just the one? It is also a possibility I guess that Moodle isn't updating its stored hashed version of the users password. What doesn't make sense to me though is you are clearly already authenticated, so why should it suddenly start popping up an authentication window. Are your running on a Linux or Windows server?

Perhaps you are trying to access a resource/section that only has a http link rather than https. Different sessions - so you will only be authenticated in one. My best guess without more info.
