I don't think he is trying to decide, it's already been decided and documented that the playing of games is something that shouldn't go on. The difficulty is how this is enforced and by whom.

Here's a thought - if we do somehow get through to 2015 with this coalition Government holding up, will people be able to vote for a continuation of the status quo?

I have been in that situation, and think localzuk's position is perfectly understandable and I don't think such an outlook is deserving of pity in the slightest. If you've been through seeing a loved one in constant pain, confined to a hospital bed with no hope of recovery, not knowing what's going on around them you'll know that they're really just existing, not really living any sort of life. Forcing treatment upon them which will make the agony last longer with no hope of curing or even alieviating the underlying position is bordering on cruelty imo. It's a decision which should be taken on the merits of each individual case, with medical opinion being the primary factor in the decision taken, and I wouldn't be in favour of a blanket ruling that you *can't* prolong somebody's life in that situation. But I certainly wouldn't want a blanket ruling that you *must*. I hope it's a decision I never have to make, but it needs to be a considered decision based on the circumstances, not an across the board rule.

Interestingly it seems Clegg has managed to get a concession that reform of politics will include a ban on non-domiciled persons sitting in Parliament, which I take to include both houses. How the hell has he pulled that one off, given the implications for Lord Ashcroft?

When Prescott was Deputy PM it also included responsibility for the regions. It's a role that can be made to mean whatever they want it to, and will almost certainly have been part of the agreement between the parties. Presumably Deputy PM means that if Cameron isn't available, Clegg will take to the despatch box for Prime Minister's Questions?

Apparently there is a precedent for the Deputy Prime Minister of a coalition government to take 11 Downing Street rather than the Chancellor. Wonder whether Clegg is going to kick Osborne out?

An annual bone of contention here. If things don't get done, or stay broken for longer because you're sat on your backside invigilating rather than doing your job, don't go out of your way to accomodate them, just do your normal hours and refer all complainants to the powers that be.

My personal Samsung NC10 has the small capacity battery, and I'm considering buying a 6 cell or 9 cell battery to upgrade it. I've found various dubious looking sites online selling them, but I'd be interested to know if anybody more reputable would be able to give me a price. Bear in mind this will be a private purchase.

Could it have come from some branded radio receiver that they gave away to competition winners (back when the BBC were allowed to run competitions) or similar? I'd imagine if it were from OB kit or something, it would been from a generic pool of BBC marked equipment rather than 5 Live having their own separate branded equipment.

Many of the word cloud scripts work from an RSS feed, so you could set up a simple blog which they add their thoughts to, and the RSS feed of that blog is used to generate your display.

That's grossly unfair. If the polling card states that the polls are open until 2200, turning up at 2130 is perfectly reasonable. The affected seats where those administering the elction couldn't get their act together should be declared null and void and a by-election held.

I'm actually fairly pleased with this outcome. The local Tory, who I think will get things done in the constituency, and would have got my vote if he wasn't a Tory got in, and it looks like a Lab/Lib coalition will form the Government. I think I've almost got what I wanted out of this election.

Interesting point about reporting from inside polling stations - don't we often see cliched footage of party leaders putting their ballot paper into the box? (Because that's all the TV news programmes are allowed to report until the polls close)

Let's get this straight - apathy is not voting because you can't be arsed. Not voting or spoiling your paper because you have made a considered decision that none of the offered candidates is acceptable to you is far from apathy.
