I was going to drive for 2hrs to take a look at lot 171 on Saturday but was vitoed by the wife Does anyone know what the 2 silver&blue Sophos boxes at the very bottom of the rack are? EDIT: They've changed the photos a bit (removed some duplicates) and added a couple of new ones, in which the Avaya IP500 has been removed from the rack and is now included in Lot 173 with the phone handsets (which is wasn't before)

Incorrect. They look alike though because they use the same chassis.

I've purchased from both companies and definitely favour VeryPC. They bend over backwards for you. Had 2 batches of dud power cables from Zoostorm.

I've just had a quote for this... US$40 per PC for 1 year, US$20 per PC per year thereafter for maintenance. Ouch
-
Phew. Thanks. I've just had a quote for more than that (for one) but it was for 10x3TB NL-SAS disks and 2xSSD. Thought £7k for two was too good to be true
-
£7k total for both or each?

Does anyone have one of these? I'm wondering if they have a TPM chip in them (?) but am finding conflicting information on t'internet...

I've got a Geist monitor in each of my 2 server rooms. If you search these forums for Geist there are more details and also some similar alternatives.

Are any of your SSIDs "Open" networks? If so, (m)any nearby devices just try to connect because they can see the network and hog an IP address (I mainly see this with Student's iPhones on our Guest network here). It's a PITA.

Got a Hubsan X4 107D last week. Still practicing indoors. Had a little accident in the office this morning though... crashed and it landed in a sink full of hot soapy water. Completely submerged for about 10-15 seconds. Thankfully after drying it all out it's still working fine (phew!)

D'oh! Missed out. Worth a crack tho...

"rules"? The guide price is "any reasonable offer". If that isn't acceptable and you're going to get snarky then delete the post...

"Payment request" spam...
kearton replied to kearton's topic in Yorkshire & Humberside Grid for Learning (YHGfL)
Hi Marc, We tend not to use the phone number. We rang it recently to report that we believed there was a problem with email not working and were told to report it in an email. I've sent 3 emails to that address this week. Not once have I even had an acknowledgement that my email has been seen, read, or even logged. One of my colleagues rang this morning to try and get an update on a problem and was asked for the reference number - which we didn't have because we don't get given them... -
