Hi, I was aware of that yes, but knew about the extended support. We will only be using the Reverse Proxy functions for Single Sign On, and I know that Web Application Proxy in Server 2012 R2 is a replacement of this feature but an upgrade to 2012R2 may not be in our budget. All I really need to see is to see a SSO solution in use at a school. Thanks, Louis

Hi, I have been asked to look into using Forefront TMG 2010 as a Single Sign On solution and speak to other schools in Birmingham who have a SSO solution in place. What I am looking for is a demo of how the system works. I have set-up TMG in a test environment and got SSO working without any issues but I have also been asked to see it working in a school. Is there anyone willing to show me their set-up in the Birmingham area? Thanks, Louis

Hi All, We are looking to rearrange our server room in the near future. We have two options available to us: 1) Connect server to switch directly at the switch cabinet. 2) Connect the servers to a patch panel in the server cabinet, then that patch panel is linked to a patch panel in the switch cabinet, then from there into the switch. The switch and server cabinets are both in the same room. I'm currently weighted towards option 2 for tidier cabling, and future proofing as we don't need to run extra cables along the ceiling space. However option one is more cost effective. What would any additional pros and cons be with these two solutions? Thanks, Lou

I found ClassFlow very interesting too, me and my colleague had a play around with it when I got back to work today

Hi, I have installed and configured HAP and all is working great. However, I am having an issue with Single Sign On using NTLM. HAP does sign me in, however this happens. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nSvDbdrENg However, this does not occur when I manually login. Thanks, Lou

Hi, Thanks for that link, it looks very helpful, I suppose now I just need a demonstration on the two systems running side by side, is it possible to script the final step so that shared areas can be added automatically?

Hi, We are currently investigating the possibility of upgrading our Music department to Mac's We will be buying another Mac to run as a server. We currently have a Windows network in place using Active Directory Firstly, Would it be possible to manage the OSX Machines using the OSX Server but use Active Directory for the logons? Secondly, Are there any issues I should specifically look out for regarding this setup? For example mapping of shared areas? Would Home directories be mapped from AD? Would shared areas be mapped using the OSX Server? Thirdly, Are there any schools in Birmingham which are using a Mac and Windows system side by side that it would be possible for me to visit? Thanks, Louis

Hi, We have a server running Windows Server 2008. It hosts our SharePoint 2010 site and has recently been giving us bad block error messages in event viewer. An example being, The device, \Device\Harddisk0\DR0, has a bad block. Would it be possible to resolve this by putting in a blank hard disk and allowing the built in RAID on the server to mirror the existing disk to a new one to avoid having to re-build the server and restore all data?

I've gotten this too, just had a load of emails come through on my phone from Sophos

Hi, My server is on a VM yes as I'm only testing it at the moment but intending on moving it onto a physical server soon.

Ok, thanks for that, I shall give it a try, I haven't had chance to image a whole room of computers to test it but I shall have a play with some Hyper V machines.

Hi, When attempting to multicast an image using MDT and WDS, I can see the computers in the Multicast Transmissions tab of WDS. At first the Transfer Rate starts counting up, however, the computer still says attempting Multicast then the transfer rate drops to 0. See screenshot attached Is there any way which I can resolve this? Thanks, Louis
