Impero - Customer Portal's available again!
kearton replied to RichCowell's topic in Network and Classroom Management
I still CAN'T get in (with old or new passwords). I tried clicking the Password Reset button again and haven't received an email about that either. I'm going to try emailing them (again... I still haven't received a response to the last one from earlier in the week...) but I'm not holding my breath... -

The console has just crashed on me a few mins ago. Pretty sure Server resources are not the problem... -

5.1.05. But it was just as unstable when we were on previous versions. -

It's still borked (for me at least). I'm actually pretty cheesed off with Impero now. Our Impero is SO unstable it's crashing all the time. Logging has been flakey and I've had to get their support to fix it a few times now. So getting access to the support portal would be VERY handy indeed. I got an email from Impero yesterday at 13:09 saying "The new, improved Customer Portal is now live". Hurrah! But my old password did not work. So I tried resetting it, which did not work (it just vegetated). I emailed their support. I still haven't received even so much as an acknowledgment, let alone a reply. Now I see Russ' post above, so I try again. Neither old nor new passwords work, so I try resetting it again. The reset process *seems* to work this time, and I'm taken back to a login screen. But the new password does not work. I try resetting it again, and am EXTRA careful with what I'm typing just in case it was me being a muppet. Nope. Login is still broken. A sentence with the words "organise" and "brewery" in it spring to mind... -
I've heard some interesting comments (from an engineer from an IT company (who isn't on EduGeek as far as I know), so it may just have been sales speak to big up their preferred product?) about the increasing need for a wirespeed UTM, in preference to alternatives like Smoothwall, Sophos, etc... They claimed they're seeing lots of problems with some customers seeing a "stutter effect" and slowdown in performance with non-wirespeed products, especially where the customer has a HEAVY reliance on Cloud technologies... They said there were only 3 wirespeed products on the market at present - Juniper, Palo Alto and FortiGate. I'd be very interested to hear everyone elses thoughts/opinions/experiences on this? Thanks in advance

I'm (still) looking into TMG replacement options. The latest thing I'm looking at are the FortiGate 100D and 200D I'm just wondering what people's opinions of it are (especially of those people who are actually using it, or have used it in the past) please? I seem to recall @SchoolsBroadband sell FortiGate, but side-by-side with Lightspeed, so was wondering if the FortiGate's native filtering wasn't up to the task (in an educational environment at least) ???

+1 for that! I wish I had 1p for every one I've made over the past 18 years. Whilst on the subject, an IT teacher at my last school asked me to make him custon length patch cable many years ago, but neglected to say how long he needed it. We got on well so I thought I'd have a little laugh with him. Funnily enough he didn't want to keep it. I still keep it in my desk drawer to this day...

Do you remember what it was called and what channel it was on please? Sounds like worth trying to find on catch up...

The ABs weren't playing well for the entire game IMHO, and they got VERY sloppy towards the end. Lots of unnecessary and highly risky offloads. Glad they won tho.

Yep, I got one today (first for a while). But it ends with "If you do not wish to receive further email communications from Meraki, please click here to unsubscribe", so it's not like you have to sell your soul.

Only 1 free AP per school
-
Reseller here. It was a complete package, with extremely comprehensive site survey before and after, cabling, 99 Meraki APs with 7 years of licensing. (we're a big site)
-
We got a free AP a couple of years ago. It came with a 3-year licence. No catch

What's the frame rate for the time lapse? i.e 1 frame every x seconds or mins etc? Also, what type of quad/camera did you use for the fly arounds? The quality is really good
-
If you want something cheap to practice/learn with, I can recommend the Hubsan X4 H107. You can pick up the basic non-camera model (H107L?) on Amazon for about £20 these days. I've got the model with a camera that transmits back to the controller (H107D?). One of my Technicians has the basic model, and we both love them.

So I've just read the "Major Incident Report" sent to us by YHGfL regarding the Internet outage we had on Tuesday morning. (some cards needed to be replaced at Janet after a failed software upgrade) Does anyone else think that "Tuesday 7-9am" is a silly time to have a "usual at risk period"?

When are the prizes being sent out please?
