I feel like the poor cousin... I've only just broken the 500 mark today... -
Does anyone have anything good (or bad) to say about FastVue Sophos Reporter please? Or can anyone else recommend another Syslog reporter for Sophos UTM?
-
Apologies for the thread necromancy, but is anyone aware of anything "modern" that could be used for this? Pulseway used to do a free version but don't seem to any more

If you told me that a few weeks ago I'd have been interested in getting a correction, however my recent dealings with Fortinet have left a VERY sour taste in my mouth. Fortinet bought Meru. A site we support had a failed Meru controller. Had a nightmare trying to get support and eventually got the RMA process rolling (warranty replacement, shipped from overseas) Then we got a phonecall from UPS asking about CUSTOMS DUTY and that we had to pay to receive it. Fortinet also say we have to pay to have the old one shipped back to them. Lets just say I'll never be buying anything Fortinet (or Meru) branded in the future...

Bits of it are pre Sophos/Cyberoam merger...

It all depends on what your specific requirements are. Back when I was looking for a TMG replacement, I compiled a list (please note: I don't claim this to be 100% correct... It's based on what I was told by vendors) of what features some different alternatives had. I had a list of requirements of what i *had* to have in a UTM, and this meant that some products were instantly disregarded as a possibility.

What model did/do you have?

Yes, definitely look at Sophos UTM as an option too.

I used to run a gaming clan many years ago. We originally played MOH:AA but evolved to playing BF2 and CS:S. I've still got CS:S on my Steam account and would happily play again if against other EduGeekers. I wouldn't really want to play against Joe Public tho... Too many haxors and whining kids, and I have a very low tolerance for muppets. Will watch this thread with anticipation

BBC MicroBit Restricted Installation Allowed thru GPO
kearton replied to chazzy2501's topic in Windows 7
Yeah we only got 3 too. I think it was the same for everyone. But I immediately called "dibs" on 1 so I could begin testing. I'm beginning to wonder if I can do what I want/need to do by using GPO alone, but I'll keep looking. We have Impero and can allow access to only certain USB devices using that, but (1) that increases our reliance on the product and I'd rather avoid this if I could get away with doing it in GP, and (2) I'd need to add every individual micro:bit individually as an exception because they all have unique ID numbers. -

I found what was causing the access denied, but now the students can access ANY usb removable storage. I think I was barking up the wrong tree above with regards to the exceptions above... this blocks INSTALLATION but not use of, yes? So I'm back to square one. I can find where to BLOCK stuff (Administrative Templates\System\Removable Storage Access) but not where I can allow any exceptions Has anyone got any ideas please? @chazzy2501? (I'm surprised there aren't a load of people on here in the same situation... either I'm an early adopter and ahead of the pack on this one, or most of you allow students to use USB anyway so aren't suffering this problem?) -

Which group policy setting(s) are you using to try and do this please? (e.g is it Administrative Templates\System\Removable Storage Access or something else?) I'm particularly interested in where you're adding your list of exceptions... ? -

Did you manage to get any further with this? I suspect I'm going to be in the same boat very shortly... :/ -
It's been a few years since I played this. Does anyone else fancy joining in a new game? (Ideally the more the merrier... Up to 7 players)

Was very interested until I saw most of the lesson times are fixed from 7-8pm (and not many on demand) which means I can't do them

SKY3D816's signal is on the same channel and stronger (so will be causing more interference) than the plethora on channel 6. What channel does the app recommend you use?
