Run both? If you cables make sure they are good enough quality. I had some hdmi cables as part of a sender/receiver and they were rubbish, kept dropping the image so swapped them out and now it’s crisp and fluent. Senders will have a slight delay, so assume you would be ok with a slight delay on the sky box, but Xbox might be annoying.

I don’t think you can do this from command reporter perspective, it is quite limited. I would invoke this using a power shell script, then take the export and remove the ‘’ from the exported file using power shell. You can also quality check before you import into sql. As an alternative does it do it if the export is txt file instead?

We have our fixed wire testing every 5 years, it is annually if you do lettings I believe. The site manager gets the electricians to contact me, I tell them the one shunt in the electrical intake room that does our server room. They test our DB that powers our servers in about 20 minutes while UPS runs the servers. Then they can take as long as they want with the rest of the site. Of course you can get some cowboy to do it live or falsify the report.

That is the only way I could see. I am just wondering how easy it will be to get that specifc data into the class profile (we have a new DM who is new to Sims) so have also gone to our Sims support unit to check. Also whether storing this data there has any unwanted side effects if it wasn't inteded to be stored there (i.e. SEN reports etc getting this odd data).
-
Sorry should have clarified, somewhere that teaching staff can view this. I heard a school stores it under Student Details, SEN, Exam Concessions but I cannot see Exam Concessions under SEN for a student. Otherwise, I was thinking our DM could grab data into a marksheet for the classprofile but needs somewhere to put it and access it via this method.
-
Does anyone know if there is a location in Sims to store exam concessions (i.e. extra time, laptop, etc.)? Or does anyone have a good solution for storing this data in Sims?

We have same setup as Primus, unifi for edge switching and Wi-Fi then HP switching at core for intervlan and acl.

Block MS logins except ours
forkies replied to Jawloms's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
What web filtering have you got? -
Can you categorise the events on the calendar and then use that to filter? As @jmak suggested too, we have users called Staff Calendar and such to keep different events on different calendars. And we strongly suggest people don’t print them out due to changes.

We have been having intermittent issues with XoD for sQuid/Cunninghams. Plus Groupcall Emerge not having data. Everytime I contact Groupcall I get a quick answered call but then told it is 2 days + for a call back, was waiting 2 weeks last time and then it broke a few days later again. Been waiting 3 days now. Groupcall just does not seem reliable at the moment and support response is terrible.

Nice that they spent school money (I am assuming without consulting based on the statement) without consulting the IT department to see if these are the best devices to suite their needs. Bitlocker encrypt, cached credentials, offline sync docs drive, user can connect to VPN when required for any network drives they need access to or Sims etc. If you use 365/GSuite then options for accessing files that way. Others may suggest Azure remote apps instead of VPN too if you have it.

Adobe Creative Suite - Different Licence

Yes, it’s their user sync tool which took a bit of search for. I will post the link tomorrow when I am back in the office. -
Might sound stupid but we had one once where the graphics driver was out of date. The user reported that sims flickered a lot, when they were minimising or moving the window and when it loaded data. Updated the graphics and it reduced it (Sims is still Sims) and that in turn cut things loading by 1-2 seconds.

Ubiquiti P2P Wireless for Internet Connection
forkies replied to meakjoe's topic in Wireless Networks
We use a pair of ubiquiti m5 loco for a p2p between our site and a gate at the back of our field range ~400m where we have access control and cctv run out of a cab. We installed ourselves and with the built in tools in the interface it is really easy to line up the units to get excellent signal. I get 300mb throughput on the wireless according to ubiquiti test, but as the nic on the units is 100mb it caps out at that on speed tests. Passes vlans fine. If you only want/need 100mb these are perfect as when we installed them, the pair cost me £150 including mounts. Otherwise airfibre range will give you much faster link but not worth it if your incoming line is only 100mb anyway. -
Adobe Creative Suite - Different Licence
forkies replied to garethEds's topic in Enterprise Software
Yes. No issues thus far, only moved over in summer. Apart from users not understanding they need to put in their school email address to login and not stopping the redirection to the ms login page. We authenticate against azure. Setup takes about 45 minutes, but their instructions aren’t the best. Even though it authenticates with azure, they require a python script to sync users from your local active directory. Also the licensing can be assigned to groups which is fine but the groups are limited to 999 users, so we have had to assign permissions to year groups instead as over 1000 students. Unless you want all your users to receive a welcome email, I recommend turning off the welcome email in the adobe admin console before adding your user groups. -
2 days seems about right, working through one of the online walkthrough guides you can find on a search the this forum a link to. We had ours setup a long time ago but pretty sure it took a couple days and then I spend a day every year just doing maintenance, SCCM updates and making things clean and organised. Checking everything is running correctly etc. Just about to setup a new distribution point to spread the load as we found when imaging it can take a beating. However the server hosting SCCM is still only connected at 1gb whereas the others are 10gb, so will be changing the network on the existing too. We probably use about 500gb just in software storage. Then windows updates and os deployment adds a fair bit of storage too.

Not sure there is a way of doing it with sims behaviour based on mark but you could make a report in sims to get the mark and just give you a list of kids that have the L code. Will only need you to specify today’s date when you run it and might save time. Plus will give you your register of kids in the DT in an excel spreadsheet.

Looking to move away from sophos puremessage

We use spamtitan, we installed on a virtual appliance and since then basically haven’t touched it, does an amazing job compared to our previous systems. -
If you use the advanced ntfs permissions and use the “apply to this folder only” it will not apply to the folders below even if inheritance is enabled.
-
Have you tried setting an advanced permission of Deny, write, on this folder only, on the top level folder?

We do what mavhc does too. I don’t think there is going to be an easy way to achieve disabling audio output via hdmi.

Ok so I edited the credprovhost.dll.mui from within C:\Windows\System32\en-GB\ using Resource Hacker as I had issues with resedit. I then saved this file to my SCCM sources share, then create a PS1 file with the below code: #Take OwnerShip of the file TAKEOWN /f "C:\Windows\System32\en-GB\credprovhost.dll.mui" #Set permissions for SYSTEM Account ICACLS "C:\Windows\System32\en-GB\credprovhost.dll.mui" /Grant 'System:(F)' #Copy the files Copy-Item C:\Windows\System32\en-GB\credprovhost.dll.mui "C:\Windows\System32\en-GB\credprovhost.dll.mui.bak" Copy-Item $PSScriptRoot\credprovhost.dll.mui "C:\Windows\System32\en-GB\" I then created a package for that directory and distributed that to the distribution points. In task sequence, assign the package towards the end and enter "ReplaceLogonScreenText.ps1" into script name. (I put all my customisations at the end, with the logon image as the last thing so I know from just looking at the computer if the build was successful). This works really well for me now as I changed from a English US build to English International build.
