  1. /q = Quiet (don't ask) /s = This directory and subdirectories (equivalent to unix -r)
  2. Could you use TrueCrypt to do this? TrueCrypt - Free Open-Source On-The-Fly Disk Encryption Software for Windows Vista/XP, Mac OS X and Linux
  3. DEL /Q yourdrive\yourdirectory\*.tmp ?? (Use with caution)
  4. This is good: webcamXP :: the powerful webcam software for Windows but unfortunatly not free
  5. Can you turn on the my moodle page and use this for it, or set it as un-enrollable and then do you enrolment manually... Cheers Jona
  6. Yep those are the ones! Re-reading my post I can see that it could be interpreted that I was implying quality by my use of the word standard which I wasn't. I meant one of the biggest makes, I'll edit it now. However all these kind of light weight locks will only stop the casual thief picking the machine off a desk. Jona
  7. The general term is a micro saver. Kensington are one of the biggest makes: Amazon.co.uk: Kensington Twin Microsaver: Kensington: Electronics & Photo Those ones on ebuyer look like they would do the job though.
  8. Well I guess this is because IE bookmarks are a format unique to MS, It's possible to import them see: Import bookmarks - MozillaZine Knowledge Base I use foxmarks to manage my personal bookmarks which means they sync automatically see: Foxmarks Cheers Jona
  9. I'm not although I am doing a degree that is accredited by them. There is a previous thread on the BCS here: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/general-chat/1316-british-computer-society.html Cheers Jona
  10. I think this is going to be a problem with any publically avaliable bookmark service, surely your proxy should be blocking inappropriate content anyway? If not I reckon you don't have any choice but to roll your own. Maybe you could use google apps or a wiki to maintain a bookmark list... or just have a list of urls... Did you look at? edutagger - K-12 Social Bookmarking / Popular ??
  11. Well you could have a seperate account for each subject or use tags to mark the subjects. Since it's free it might be quickest just to try it! I think using a personalized html block they'd have to be trying quite hard to get to ""unsuitable"" links.
  12. What he said, if you register with delicious they provide you with a code block (of html) that you can just copy and paste into your webpage to display your links / tags. Also have: edutagger - K-12 Social Bookmarking / Popular bookmarked, but never used it so no idea if it's any good. Cheers Jona
  13. I think short of a more expensive managed service the acceptable wisdom is to give them all the same SSID and encryption that way laptops should be able to move between access points seemlessly. But you want to keep them on channels that are far apart so they interfere less at a radio level, e.g. channels 1,5,11 Cheers Jona
  14. I suspect it is possible but I don't know how to do it so not going to attempt advice google might tell you.... Might be easier just to buy a blank dvd? Jona
  15. What are you actually asking? Looks like a fairly standard (if fairly useless process analysis).....
  16. Could you not just do a normal clean install of windows xp standalone and then use the RM migration utility (can't remember what it's called, I'm sure someone will) to join it onto the CC3 network using that? Edit: It's called SmartClient see: RM SmartClient Info [bishop Barrington IT Wiki] or http://www.edugeek.net/forums/network-classroom-management/12933-connecting-non-rm-laptops-cc3-network.html Jona
  17. Here's a better url: Olympus WS-100 64MB WMA Digital Voice Recorder with USB Connection WS100 Big Ben Audio
  18. A systems Architect is someone who is in charge of the design and development of a software system. I think generally their a lead software developer managing a programming team. Where as a network manager is in charge of the maintenance and upkeep of a network. They do little if any development work (except scripting). They usually only manage very small teams. I think a network manager possible is equal to a Systems Administrator but not a systems Architect....
  19. To this properly you need to get a seperate composite/s-video feed of the slides (laptop output) and the camera on the speaker then use some form of editing/processing equipment to do picture in picture. I can't find anything cheap to do this the bit of kit your after is a video mixer with picture-in-picture support.
  20. Have you confirmed this isn't just a one off incident e.g. it happens all the time? Have you tried it as an admin account or with a different browser?
  21. The key search term here is going to be differential or incremental backup. AFAIK all the major backup players do product that will do this. I've had success with a combination of smartsync pro and ftp but not in a production environment..... Cheers Jona
  22. Not convinced your going to find this information anywhere as it's not in any of the companies interest to provide it. A forum/google search can provide you with the top products and it's kind of up to you to evaluate them.....
  23. No worries, feel free to click the thanks button if it worked for you... Jona
  24. I think that's why then see here: Re: Can no longer remote login to headless WHS server: Error regarding remote login being expired... - Windows Home Server Community Forums
