Due to the increasing prevalence of technology across GLAM and the use of such in commercial and public-facing aspects of operations, we have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced IT and AV professional to join the Gardens & Museums IT team on a one year fixed-term contract to fully investigate, analyse, and develop solutions to these new and emerging requirements. Alongside the Service Manager, the IT & AV Officer will be responsible for the analysis of Audio Visual and Commercial Computing systems used within GLAM, and for developing and implementing a service to support these, which will include Windows management and maintenance and the documentation of these solutions. Put -batch on the end of your command string.

Run the psftp.exe command interactively (without the -b flag) and it will prompt you to accept the server key. Jona

Yes we have a batch script which contains the following: E:\DataExport\Uniware\PSFTP.EXE -b E:\DataExport\Uniware\ftp_commands.txt [email protected] -pw password -batch ftp_commands.txt then contains: put data.csv bye The batch script is run as the last step in the SQL agent job which creates data.csv but could just as easily be run from a scheduled task.

I work in HE and we use Uniware for our cashless provision. Currently we do a three times a day sync with our database. Our Database outputs the relevant data to a csv file then we use psftp to upload the file. Jona

Certainly for cameras on buildings it is usually cheaper to replace it with a proper cable. Occasionally I've seen it used when you have an existing Coax which is direct buried to a CCTV pole or similar, but reliability can be a bit hit and miss. Jona

The problem is that your second error (the one mentioning line 20) is saying that $_SERVER["HTTP_HOST"] is undefined and therefore is evaulating to blank, hence the trailing slash is actually the leading slash of your https:// According to: PHP: $_SERVER - Manual HTTP_HOST may not be set: 'HTTP_HOST' Contents of the Host: header from the current request, if there is one. You might want to try using $_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'] instead. Jona

I think we've had success up-to about 150m, but it does seem to depend a lot on the individual cable. I would definitely recommend buying a pair of transceivers and testing your cables one at a time before committing to the full set.

We use HP LRM trancievers over various lengths of OM1. We've found it works well over shorter runs, for longer runs it's usually a case of try it and see. On all of our OM1 LRM connections we use a mode conditioning cable at both ends (http://www.universalnetworks.co.uk/pdfs/mode-conditioning-patch-cable-1302090760.pdf), if you use these be sure to get them the right way round so that the conditioning joint is on the TX side of the transceiver. Hi, We're a boarding school just over the border in Surrey. We do full BYOD in all our senior school (yr 9 - yr13) boarding houses. There is wifi available in most classrooms and it is currently up to pupil's if they choose to bring their devices to lessons. We use Xirrus arrays, with 802.1x authentication to a central radius server and use a product called Network Sentury made by Bradford to enforce anti-virus compliance, etc. If you want more info, do get in touch.... You'll most likely find these don't exist as iSAMS documentation has historically been very thin on the ground. Both these modules are fairly straight forward, it is mostly just a case of correctly capturing your school's structure - e.g. Forms vs sets. If you get stuck you'll find the iSAMS Helpdesk very helpful. Cheers Jona

Hi Barry, Might be worth asking iSAMS if there is any authentication functionality available via their much rumored api. That would be the safest way. Last time I looked at doing an authentication integration with iSAMS they were using unsalted SHA256 or SHA512 (can't remember which) password hashing for parent portal accounts. If they can be relied upon not to change that it seems like it would probably be quite simple to write a Joomla authentication plugin to take the inputted username and password, hash the password, test it against the iSAMS database and return a result. Hi all, We're trying to proactively monitor all our server infrastructure via Nagios. So far lightspeed is a bit of a weak point in this chain not providing it's RAID or PSU health via SNMP or Web. If anyone else has lightspeed and is in a similar situation or might be in the future, could I ask you vote on this feature in the issuetracker: Login Required - Help Shape Lightspeed's Future. This is especially important for schools who have to have their ethernet bridges configured to fail safe (disconnected) as a failure of the device will block all internet connectivity inbound and outbound.
