Well yeh the double probability of failure is what reduces it, so raid 0 is actually less "redundant" than a single hard disk. Although it is fast so I guess a resonable stratergy is you have robust backups stored elsewhere. Jona

Since it seems to be an e-mail issue the fact that is a CC3 network seems to be largely irelavent to me. I would have thought a letter sent to the head / bursar / network manager at the school requesting the ban to be reconsidered / lifted in light of the amount of time passed would be the best way forward. I think it really depends what form the "hack" took. There are entire forums on the net dedicated to "hacking" RM CC3 but it all depends how an individual school has it setup. I personally don't think it is any more or less secure than a vanilla network.... Cheers Jona

Sounds epic, could you look at putting in wired network points to each desk and /or power. Either way you need a lot of infrastructure investment... Don't forget to consider if your current IT support staff can cope with supporting 1500 extra machines, or if you need to hire some more people. Also does your backbone have enough capacity (wireless issues aside) to cope with the increased traffic?

Unhelpfully there do seem to be 2 distinct fonts and it depends which one your after. There is a very formal serif : http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/adobe/raphael/ and a very informal sans-serif: http://www.filecart.com/fonts/font-8985-Raphael.html

It's not very expensive to buy see: http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/adobe/raphael/ or http://www.fonts.com/FindFonts/detail.htm?pid=205063 It seems to be an adobe font so maybe try installing some of their free trials / free editions of their software to see if that installs it...? I think there is only so much you can transfer you are talking about a different operating system after all. That utility looks good but ultimatly I would expect to do lots of settings by hand. If you have the two machines up and running next to each other it shouldn't be too bad a job.... Cheers Jona

Sounds like a basic setup error with your webhosting / web server. Is php installed and enabled correctly? Including the .php extention being a recognized type..... Try a basic .php file in the same location your are trying to install with the source of <?php phpinfo(); ?>

runas will allow you to run a program as another account: http://www.ss64.com/nt/runas.html But you probably would do better by getting to the bottom of the issue filemon or regmon might help you to know what specific files are causing the permissions issue.

I'd personally reccomend a dedicated label printer, I've spent years strugelling with avery labels type products and I label printers are just so easy in comparison. I've recently brought a brother ql-500. It shows up as a normal printer so I guess it should be at least vagely networkable. The software is good and there is also an addon for MS word to print the highlighted text as a label. Good linux support: http://etc.nkadesign.com/Printers/QL550LabelPrinter It will also accept PDFs of the correct size sent to it. I'd reccomend getting the QL-550 which has an automatic cutter, mine has a manual I got mine from ebay for about £50. Cheers Jona
