I can't get it to install over the network at all, until I set the client to 'Use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers' in the Home or Work area of the HomeGroup settings. It's annoying, as there don't appear to be any GPO settings related to this and I changed it on the image prior to sysprep. Granted, I'm not using the new console yet, or even the newer AV because BGfL are still looking at it.

We reported it and 5 minutes later it was back to 'normal'

For those interested, it looks as though it will be another 2 weeks before the new version is available. Rob

Did you tick the 'Generalize' box? Doesn't work on our Dell 760's unless we do. Be warned, you can only sysprep the image 3 times with the 'Generalize' option as it resets the grace period for activation. Rob

Hi all, Having problems getting Sophos to deploy on our 7 test machines. Domain firewall is disabled and the machines shows as pulling down the install with the little green arrow in the Enterprise Console, but it just sits there from then onwards with no sign of installation on the machine occurring. I read a support article on the Sophos site about enabling certain features under the Network Sharing Centre, and when I chose 'use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers' in the Home or Work group, it deployed fine. However, I can't find any options for this in the 2008 Group Policies, and obviously doing this to each machine would be a pain the rear. It also appears as though its profile specific so doing it on the initial image won't make a blind bit of difference, any suggestions? Are there any ill effects to putting the Sophos Installation on the image before capture? Will all the machines report back OK to the console after naming? Sorry for all the questions! Right so far i've managed to find a piece of software that was looking for a server that no longer existed, and a log off script that couldn't find its .bat file. Will see how it goes.

It's not the actual Power Button on the machines, it's the shutdown in the start menu.

Hi Folks- Hope we all had a productive summer. We are having an issue which is starting to annoy us. On certain machines when the user presses the shutdown button, the computer will freeze for a few minutes and then return to normal state. This happens whether the user is logged on or if using the shutdown button on the Ctrl Alt Del screen. This is only happening on certain machines, some of which use different images. Anyone run into this issue before? Machines are all XP and getting updates via WSUS. Rob

Got Forensics to look at ours today and it's now updated to 3.0.0.8, will see how we get on with that!

Ours is also internal, we had problems updating to 3.0.0.7 but Forensics applied a fix for it to update. I figured this would sort it for the long term, but maybe it doesn't.

BUMP. Has anyone in Birmingham had the updated PCE through yet? We had a text for Link2ICT almost a week ago now, saying it would become available overnight and downloaded automatically..still nothing

Missing network driver from the Boot Image.

GVRP seems like the correct thing to be using to replicate your VLANs across the switches. I only know VTP myself, but they seem quite similar in that respect. Don't understand what you're asking about ACLs, but they shouldn't be affected by the use of VLANs.

Anyone else getting strange alerts today on Sophos? Our weekly scan has picked this up on all computers. Seems PCE related, no update it seems on the Console either.
