  1. At what point is it failing? You could try install it from a USB Flash drive. This is a good guide for doing so - EEEguides.com: Install Windows XP on the Asus Eee PC
  2. XP SP3. Looking to go to 7 not long after it comes out I think!
  3. Try selecting all the text and changing the font. We've had this problem and doing that seems to sort it. Rob
  4. Pretty sure I tried to upgrade the RAM in these only to find nothing we had would fit. Uses 144 Pin DDR2. Expensive too!
  5. Ours was terrible up until last week while they added the additional proxy servers. Constant drop outs and slowdowns. Been fine since, however we are supposedly maxing out our connection every so often
  6. Take a normal VLC shortcut and edit the target to add "http://cam.era.ip.address/img/video.asf" after "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" So you'd get "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" "http://x.x.x.x/feeds/awesome.asf"
  7. 123DVDConverter for me.
  8. Mine should be waiting for me when I get home
  9. Looking forward to this

  13. 5 A200 Laptops 1 Infected A120 laptop 1 HP 550 Laptop About 7 mugs Phone Keys...All sorts of random stuff!
  14. We had some student A200's that magically had BIOS passwords put on them (for home use, so we do nothing but give them the laptop). I don't know how similar the A300's are to these but what I had to do was - Remove the battery Remove the memory slot cover Remove the memory Look for a small 'W' shaped area and short it against the case. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f14/devilsadvocate1337/Untitled-1-2.jpg This cleared the BIOS and the password. Worth having a look
  15. Didn't look that good of a party to be honest
  16. As above, the NC10 seems to be the best of the crop at the minute. Got my GF one a couple of weeks back and she says it seems to just keep on going and going Like the look of it too, might get myself one!
  17. Best of luck to you!
  18. I'll have one of those!
  19. Just read this one on another forum I visit - Two dwarfs decide to treat themselves to a vacation in Las Vegas. At the hotel bar, they were dazzled by two women, and wind up taking them to their separate rooms. The first dwarf is disappointed, however, as he's unable to reach a certain physical state that would enable him to join with his date. His depression is enhanced by the fact that, from the next room he hears cries of, "?ONE, TWO, THREE...HUH!" all night long. In the morning, the second dwarf asks the first, "How did it go? The first whispered back, "It was so embarrassing. I simply couldn't get an erection." The second dwarf shook his head. "You think that's embarrassing?" he asked. "I couldn't even get on the bed!"
  20. I laughed
  21. I need to throw a bucket over mine actually!
  22. Nicked this from an A+ book I have -
  23. 802.11g runs at a maximum 54Mbps, 802.11b runs at a maximum of 11Mpbs. Provided your AP's support 802.11g, you should be able to set what they run at through the WebUI. Rob.
  24. Hi guys, i'm sick of my current place of work. A soon to be renewed managed service, the lack of WANTING to help me with my CCNA funding, and a general 'dogs body' feel are doing my head in. Anyone out there looking for a hardworking Techie? If anyone has any jobs or knows of any coming up, iin and around the Midlands (I do 30 miles a day as it is), please post 'em up or PM me. Further details / CV can be sent upon request. Thanks! Rob.
