  1. Budget? You are in "how long is a piece of string" territory at the moment. I'd strongly advise getting someone in with a few options and seeing what they recommend, and what sounds good. There are many ways to skin that particular cat... A location might elicit some recommendations of local companies.
  2. Can anyone recommend a small (7"), cheap, 5.8gHz capable tablet? For me and my assistant to access lab requests when out-and-about. I can find 2 out of 3 of the requirements
  3. We're going to try the NEC that we have with the longer than desirable arm. One of the board lights being taken out to accommodate it. Flat screen is out as the room is limited for whiteboard space, the projector will be displayed on a semi-matt board. Seems OK from a trial. I'll stick a pic or two up once done.
  4. I'm sure we could have spared Witch to do a proof read on it... Congratsulations!
  5. THAT is probably the winning phrase.
  6. We had desktops in all classrooms. All teachers now have M$ surfaces. In science & DT we are resisting the removal of the PCs. PLEASE don't get me started on DSE, number of USB ports, reliability...
  7. It would be fun programming that lot to do things like Mexican waves...
  8. Cost isn't really the issue (within reason), but getting lights moved is to be avoided if possible.
  9. In one room we have a ridiculous long boom with a standard projector on it, and due to the ceiling height it shines right in the teachers eyes. Standard ceiling mount out due to construction of said ceiling. (Please don't ask!) Trying to do this without major fiddling with lights, so the shortish boom mount don't help much.
  10. Not necessarily Casio, I was just commenting on how poor their images are on the web.
  11. Does anyone have a make/model for the really extra-ultra-short throw projectors? The ones screwed to the wall, not on a short arm. Google-fu is failing... Casio's web presence is shocking; no clue as to how their's mount!
  12. FAKE NEWS! SouthEND News Network. (All power to them!)
  13. That was quick, and such good English...
  14. One of our building is the inspiration for the dining room at Hogwarts. And they flap about in gowns... Niet.
  15. It was the tallest building in the WORLD for a very long time.
  16. Not from here I can't. Re - website. You CAN get used to it...
  17. Many do... I've used a wired "learning remote" in the past; but can't find the thing now. Wasn't cheap. Wire from simple programmable push button to IR transmitter fixed on ceiling near projector.
  18. After the first Mrs C wrote our car off on an on-comming Volvo, she was talking to a Special Branch plod at work about the incident. He told her of an incident early in his career attending an RTA where the back of a brand new car was ripped off by a bus. The cars front wheels hadn't left the forecourt.
  19. Amen to that! And previous book was "Something Rising"
  20. Just finished Jasper Fford's "Early Riser". Whelp - that's weird... Entertaining, but weird. *See what I did there?
  21. Start with CPC. Pretty good range; and their "own brand" stuff if fair.
  22. This is the same outfit that wanted people to tweet personal details if they raised queries.
  23. ALL shops did it years ago!
  24. OK, so there are some roadworks. But to close a bus stop only to put a temporary one in not 2m up the road? Presumably someone got paid for that bit of thinking.
