I don't think Steve Jobs would want part of my liver - it's been pickled in Jack Daniels. He's got £500 of mine, isn't that enough?
  2. I had this with a PC connected to a screen at pos. The moment the power supply in the PC was swapped out the flickering disappeared.

Hey Matt, I think you've just been hit with a handbag.

I think it may be to do with WPA-PSK and TKIP encryption as I use this at home and the moment there's a lot of wireless traffic the iPad starts stuttering. Believe it or not one of the recommendations I came across on the Apple site was to turn the screen brightness up to max as this may solve the issue. I must admit that since the last ios software upgrade things have been a lot better. Is your user using the latest ios 4.2? At school we use .11a with WEP (don't laugh - a certain well-known company who advertises on this site is responsible for managing it) and there's no problem when I use my iPad. We've got three more iPads on-site now so it'll be interesting to see how they fare when the kids start using them to stream iPlayer content.
  5. The change in 1997 has caught lots of people out! Loads of people I know who passed their test after 1997 don't even realise they aren't allowed to tow anything like a caravan or a horsebox - a friend of ours got pulled over the other week and she got points for towing without the correct classifications on her licence.
  6. [PEDANTRY] And that is the American spelling as well so it should be scepticisms.......so the s and the c are quite handy? [/PEDANTRY]
  7. If you're shooting through the window of an aircraft another trick is to use the blanket they give you or your jacket as a cloak to stop reflections on the glass. You'll get some weird looks from fellow passengers though!
  8. Ohhhh, Matron!
  9. Whoops, wrong thread. Wrong Forum!
  10. Did you pack condoms? I've heard you need them if you attend some of the after show parties
  11. I'm sorry, but Regina loves me also! She said in her email that she very much was in love with me by looking at my FaceBook photographs. Amazing considering I don't have any photographs on FaceBook?! I've sent her money for her airfare and she should be over next week. If she's butt-ugly I'll send her over to you in Hampshire.
  12. Cheers mate.
  13. OMG sorry to hear you've been so unwell and here's wishing you a very speedy recovery back to full health!
  14. Can anyone tell me anything about .co.za ???
  15. Around £450 with licences.
  16. Which reminds me.... I was in a pub full of scousers the other week and I told a 'knock, knock' joke, except they didn't get to hear the punchline as they were all too busy trying to flush their gear down the toilet........
  17. Designing helpful information posters to go up in the IT rooms?
  18. Routine maintenance - checking / cleaning / tidying computers in classrooms? Noting vandalism, etc? Always makes them feel important if you get them to design a checklist spreadsheet and then go around with it on a clipboard checking the PCs
  19. This link on the same page caught my eye: Top 10 Pregnancy Tips - DOs and DON'Ts (Pic) | Daily Dawdle
  20. I'd forgotten I'd still got this. Still boxed and unused. Now for sale for £99! PM me if you're interested.
  21. Another thing that annoys me is how certain manufacturers have copied Apple's design idea of spacing out the keys on their laptop keyboards. One manufacturer, who shall remain nameless, has copied Apple's idea and got it horribly wrong - the keys are too far apart and you really struggle to use their laptop with this 'feature' properly. You're forever hitting the adjacent keys or the wrong key altogether.
  22. The cheaper Toshibas made now are horrible. Cheap brittle-plastic things. Working on them can be a nightmare. You have to be so careful you don't break anything when you take them apart. Very flimsy.
  23. We need to hang a small NAS solution off our network (it'll only hold around 200GB of files), but it'll have to be quite robust with 50-odd users accessing it. I said we'd use an old server, whack some suitable new HDDs in it, install FreeNAS, and bob's your uncle but they want a nice new shiny box with NAS written on it..... Budget is up to £500 ex vat. Needs to support Raid 1, 5 and AD. Many thanks.
  24. Can we edit this video so it goes on about the new 'league' tables? BBC News - School league tables: Most miss Baccalaureate target That would be hilarious.
  25. Hi, welcome to the mighty edugeek!
