  1. We're using plasmas and LCDs with converters either end of cat5e runs from the PCs to the screens. The PCs ran Win XP Pro and the signage package was DSign.
  2. Arrrgggh, cp2025s - nooooo!!!!!! Go to the HP website and get the network express PCL6 driver - it's a known issue with the drivers off the install CD and this driver solved our identical problem. LINKY It says 2020 series but it's the right driver.
  3. Hi Ben, Yes I know and I did but I was wondering what else was out there and being used successfully
  4. We have six screens but I just want something that is quick and easy to use, looks professional, and will be straightforward for a not very IT-literate colleague to use.
  5. Yes, but I'd rather look at something that a fellow Edugeeker recommends than faff around with the various choices on websites. I spent some time playing with Concerto last night but was wanting to look at alternatives.
  6. That was by accident they were looking for the 'order pizza' button.....
  7. Blimey that was quick! Many thanks!
  8. Looking to switch from Windows XP & DSign on our digital signage system to Ubuntu but need a good open source program to use. Any suggestions? Many thanks.

  12. Yeah, but you're gonna get rained on on Thursday by the look of it. Hope your car sunroof gets jammed open...
  13. I have a friend who is 22 and he's on £65k in his current IT role (non-edu though). So go for it!
  14. I think I know what happened. I typed in "Houses of Parliament" and then clicked SEARCH and then it crashed.........
  15. When I type in my work-place postcode and hit search I get beaten with truncheons and thrown in the back of a police van. Is this normal?
  16. I shoot everything on my Nikon in RAW - the fun you can have in Photoshop afterwards is amazing.
  17. One word. Morons. Followed by OMG.
  18. How old are you? If you're the 'right' side of 35 then may I suggest: Adventure, Sports, Social Leisure Group | Meet people and make friends. - Spice UK National Office I did fire-eating & fire-walking with them. It sure beat doing anything else. If you're over 35 then may I suggest joining the ramblers....
  19. Nikon or Canon - both good although Nikon gear is dearer, especially the lenses. I have a couple of Nikons and upgrade every so often taking advantage of the various cashback offers. Make sure you get a couple of decent prime lenses such as a 50mm.
  20. How do people get these jobs if they're not up to it?! The fault has to be with the interview selection / process.
  21. And do you know that Vodafone Egypt turned their services off as well at the behest of the Egyptian government? Disgraceful.
  22. I've just opened a bottle of JD. Big mistake.
  23. 1. Go to Google Maps. 2. Search "London." 3. Zoom in on the Houses of Parliament and you'll see a location marked as "Cameron David." 4. Click on it, and select "reviews." 5. Read. Lol: "David ‎ - 14 Jul 2010 Frequently full. After entering David Cameron all I was able to see was Nick Clegg's feet. He'd obviously managed to get much further in to the rear entrance than anyone else could....."
  24. Eeek, 1990 - where has the time gone? 21 years ago it was. I was just cutting my teeth as a political activist then.
