[video] Volvo trucks new emergency brakes.
tech_guy replied to mattx's topic in Jokes/Interweb Things
Imagine that on the M6 in rush-hour - the Volvo truck successfully stops to avoid a collision due to stalled motorist ahead but gets absolutely t*****d from behind by about 18 white van men who all plough in to him...... -

It's hideous. Looks like something that crash landed out of the sixties....

Don't buy HotPoint. Useless. Bits fall off. Had to replace the runners twice as they seem to expand.

I've reported it to eBay. I suggest you do the same to save some poor punter from being ripped off.

The BBC really is a great steaming pile of dog do-do - they don't do news reporting anymore - they just pay over salaried monkeys to go stand somewhere and tell us the bleedin' obvious.

Shame about HMV - if you knew what you were looking for you could usually bag DVDs for less than some of the major online retailers. My DVD film collection (over 5000 titles) is probably 25% purchased from HMV over the years.

And caused a 5km tailback on the motorway as he was driving so slowly. Bonkers.

Lots of snow in my home town but not much here where I work twenty miles away - just sleet. I was hoping for a day in bed watching carp tv.......

They might be able to repair it and it might not affect your MOT as it's above the driver's main area of view. I've had a similar sized chip repaired.

I've got a 620 that randomly blocky pixellates the screen so it looks like you're using a Sinclair Spectrum. HP are puzzled and reinstalls and firmware updates haven't solved it yet.

I just lost 150 pounds in one easy exercise - it's called getting your car fixed

I purchased a batch for the school and they arrived today. I brought one home tonight to set up and play around with as it was so manic today. It wouldn't power up. I left it on charge for two hours. Still no joy. Holding the power button down for 15 seconds as recommended by ASUS on their support website did sweet nothing. So I went on to a number of forums to have a rummage around (Googling 'Asus Nexus 7 not turning on' rather disconcertingly turned up a lot of hits).... .... and a tip from one user suggested popping the back cover off and disconnecting and then reconnecting the battery. Off comes the cover - and there's the problem - the battery isn't connected at all. Plugged the connector in and we're off......finally. Hope I don't have to bu@@er around with all the others like this

I'll go book Linus on an anger management course, shall I?

Do you have an Elite as mine has started doing this but not so bad and the disks atm still work?
-
My local computer shop has a CD / DVD cleaner / restorer machine and for £5 they will fix scratched disks. Might be worth finding out if someone near you offers the same service?
