I did twice daily snapshots on the two SANs which was fine for the eek I deleted X moments. Daily full backups to tape were taken for the Finance program, Daily full SQLs for the MIS to a NAS and then both SANs were backed up to tape over a 72hr window from Friday night to early Monday morning, this included agents on most VMs to take care of them and it worked well, tapes on a rotation schedule with a few taps for each type of job and quite pleased with it once it got setup and working which took its time. The tapes are stored on our 2nd campus so were off-site but still on-site so it worked well as it was a 16 slot autoloader it never needed tapes changing and they were off-site so ticked all boxes

It is worth talking to your account manager and ensuring you understand your renewal and why you are seeing an increase. I know that I was a bit eek! when mine arrived this year but once I spoke to them about it I understand how the pricing has changed and been adjusted as the product has changed itself.

It was recommended that you should not be able to name or age a students from the logon name / email address given this was from BECTA I think at the time and was good practice. It isn't that hard to do it tbh I did it at my last place, we went for year of entry, first 2 intiials of first name and first 2 of surname and the admission number from the MIS which worked well and that way staff could always remind students of details easily as they had all the bits of information on registers etc....

We used a Smoothwall UTM that did that just fine with Ruckus managed wireless. We had a guest portal to hold things secure from the students so that was a passkey but that was all we had once through that it just worked and was fine.

To move the mail I would expect the LA to handle all of that for you and migrate the existing mail across. You will logon to a specific website and that will take you straight into Outlook WebApp for the email for the end users so nice and simple. Maybe @EduTech can be a good chappy and help set you up and give you a paw

Sounds like a local cache has not updated perhaps if you are running Outlook in cached mode.

My Ruckus APs are mounted on the ceiling using the mounting kit you can get from Ruckus, we do have odd ones on walls though but they are facing the direction of use

I know that EdExcel you have to enter them on a special basedata avaliable from EdExcel online, you enter them on this special code and then magically the results fairies send you the results via EDI which is magical and makes life 1000x easier.... well when they do as you ask -_-

Would agree worth doing on that unit they are the last of the amazing 4000 series printers HP did most of the new stuff is now junk that comes out of HP certainly not robust enough

HP DC7700s with 3Ghz or so P4s, 2Gb Ram and SATA HDDs think that is about the lowest now, they grindr along but for what they cost me at the time (about £140 from ICT Direct a few years ago now) they have done very well indeed They are being religated to info / TFT drivers such as the CCTV screen in the Site Managers office, general info screens etc.... as they run PPT fine once up and running
