I am indeed a ParentPay user and very happy to say that, touch wood, the last 12 months have been fine, including the start of year (which for us was mammoth with moving to Cashless Catering in June (Nationwide Retail Systems) for just Y9,10 and 12 (rest on exam leave) and then in September we enlarged, became dual sited and had Y7 to Y13 and everything just worked. Parents paid up, students put fingers on tills and they said they have money and thus ate food, sales of food went up to ParentPay etc... so yes it is much better which I do think is down to significant investment of time by the team at ParentPay who have put a lot of work into it. I did have a good chat to them at BETT this year and thanked them for the support they have given us as I know they were keeping an eye on our transactions due to the major changes for us in September and it was good to know they were there at the end of the phone to support if required. Support wise I don't have a lot to do with it now that it is actually working but when I have had queries they have been responded to in efficient time and to a good responce. We are encouraged to ask our LA IT Team for advice but in most cases they are useless as I seem to know more than them in a lot of cases and a lot of our glitches are not fixable by the end user they need a more back end approach so to speak which means they just would pass it on to ParentPay so cut them out and it works fine.

NatWest and RBS Apps
john replied to john's topic in Windows Phone Owners Club's Windows Phone Owners Club Topics
I've had the Natwest one on WP for about a week now (they had a big PR thing on Facebook about it) and its great, and I prefer it over the Android one they have so well worth grabbing -

Now this is where it gets weird is it a real one from the MS Dynamics CRM that someone has poorly configured -
Take advice from the manufacturer on what tests to run and that will probably confuse him enough to leave it alone perhaps? I would guess they could be tested as a computer device myself though.

You know there is free tools from Microsoft to help with such things they do migration toolkits for most major features, DHCP is export and import so quite simple

You won't get a quick solution to this I'd say if you have slowed the door closers down you really need the wall toughening up to stop it moving so much but that will be mega bucks. This is why I avoid wall mounted projectors as much as I can as teenagers have habits of slamming doors when asked to leave a room for poor behaviour etc... But so far are not that good at stamping on the 1st floor thus wobbling the unit on the ground.

Had one a few weeks ago just junked it -
Problem is a user error, there is an option when you start the new project in Premier Pro to select the path for Media Cache files and you can choose where it puts them. Our Media Students are told to make a folder in the Media Section under the project they are doing for example: M:\Joe Blog\Unit1\Video1\Media Cache They follow that pattern so the are there for use on any machine they use, out of the profile and are backed up so can be re-pointed etc... been working fine for us for 2 years doing the moving trick and not a problem takes a few pokes to get them to remember to do it and you can do it post starting a project but takes time. Adobe Premiere Pro * Setting up your system is a useful link from Adobe

Smoothwall have been honest and said they are putting more staff on support that will help once they start. Surprised that your account manager hasn't been in touch though that is not like them. Maybe worth dropping them another line to see if they can assist you further :-)

As posted earlier on a new Firewall is in development for Smoothwall and a new reporting engine is also due as they have accepted that its not up to the required standards (sorry guys but you know it is as well as me!) and that is much better than the current one which is having its moments for some users as has been posted on here before. Having seem some bits of the new reporting system and talking to the developers it is going to be a major improvement and much quicker at processing data which it needs to be given the thirst for online resources. The new support site, must admit I am not a fan of it at all and I would go as far as saying it was a bad move IMHO, I absolutely hate it and dread having to use it (and I have to use some rotten "helpdesk" including one company that thinks a wordpress blog comment system is a "helpdesk"!!?). My past tickets which are useful sources of info for me are missing a lot of responses and details I found the other day when looking for some info that I knew was in an old case from ages ago, its unfriendly and unintuitive so I do think a try again is needed on that there are products much better out there to be used so I do think they got that wrong and should re-look at that, however I would prefer them to get more staff onto the phones and email support for everyone's benefit, but it could be a double edged sword that if we had the old system which had a lot of very good KBs (albeit dating due to the new systems and upgrades) when you dug through then you might not actually need to call up.... (See I can also be critical of Smoothwall for those who keep saying all I ever do is praise them they don't get everything right it is how they respond when they get it wrong and how they work with customers over problems)

This is @SimpleSi so unless it runs Windows 98 or earlier..... You really do need to start sorting these schools out though Si and get them into the 21st Century....

Oh not just me that sends everyone to the Kwik-E-Mart for an hour, Apu's profits must be amazing

Did Windows for Workgroups and DOS an 98 support MSTSC and Remote Apps.... This is SimpleSi we are talking about who still thinks that XP is scarily modern and has no place in his systems.....

Contrasting colours is part of the regulations so our sockets are grey, well bar the data outlets which annoyed the architects as Excel don't make grey outlets haha and as that was my spec they had to adhere to it When I spec dado trunking I use REHAU COMPACT Data now as its really nice and not too expensive and Rehau seem to know how to make a good product that just works They have good solutions for the contrasting colours setup as well with contrasting top so you can use white sockets and outlets

One strange thing that seems weird but well worth it is actually look at the Electrical Dado they are using and specify that yourselves. For example our refurbishment has some lovely Marshall Tufflex dado in it very nice at a price of heading towards £100 a length however its cured like a C shape when looked at in profile, as a result the In-Wall amps stick out and don't fit correctly and thus have to either be sealed around or you have to mount a slim surface patress to the dado backbox with the rear cut out of it to then secure it fully which looks just silly.

Contact the people that coded the software it could be a bug. We had a good bug in our print management software a couple of years ago that .pub files over 2 pages took 40 pages of credit and it was fixed in the next release but was only one one printer and its driver so the solution before the new software was use the newer sibling printers drivers that worked on it as well and job done. Could you print to PDF then print the PDFs? We had to do that to avoid an Excel 2010 issues with Toshiba drivers for our old copiers

Must admit adaptable electrical boxes are great for them tbh and much cheaper. You can get them from CPC, CEF, RS and they do them in clear if you look around which will make it even better for you then you can see the lights on the AP

He didn't look much like a Pyromaniac when you brought him to visit. However does he have a bit of paper saying he is allowed to be one (Trained Stage Pyro guy here) I find Fire works just as well and here where we are we just make a big heap and set it on fire the joy of rural nowhereness and a bit of garden space
