Green light flashing is indicating a fault for sure, for example if you remove the cable from it it should after a few moments start to flash as it cannot complete its sync to the card. It is certainly worth a pushing for a line test. You are in a rock / hard place situation which I had with BT last year over ISDN30, it kept dropping and they said its fine so its the phone system, also a BT maintained, so got cross at both sides and when I told them both they would be charged for fault etc... the lines team decided it was a NTE fault and came and swapped it at both ends and magic all was good. If both units drop and flash at the same time I'd find that a little strange and wonder if the card in the PBX is dying off perhaps.

Agree avoid the centre and you will probably do much better, look at the tube map and do zone 4 and outwards and you will be better.

Large plastic boxes work well I think @Soulfish had his Aerohive ones in IP54 rated boxes at his last spot

SIMS is an SQL database, assuming you have the ArcServe SQL Agent that is for that SQL version you should be fine if you set the job up correctly. In terms of the SIMS installation its a Windows Server so a Windows agent would work with that.

I would say that @Ric_ would have views over that given his morning. If you have two clusters an the virtual is for managing them is on opposites that would be fine but on the same cluster its not a good idea, you don't need anything fancy for a vCentre box (a cheap desktop will do!) and your away.

Are you able to do the test message to an external account EG your own personal email perhaps? It maybe that exchange isn't letting it out of the organisation which would be why the test works.

I had that joy in the refurb found my data trunking full of fire cable and I got rather arsey over it as it had space left to allow it not to be squashed and also for our next phase... needless to say the LV/HV argument came up so I threw in that fire cable has a tone on it which I didn't think would be good in with data and to prove it held a tone tool to a call-point and the purring pulsing tone was heard. In the end they removed about 95% of it from containment as it came down to X said I could use it, but when X was asked they were no way I'd never say that etc... I had mentioned before talking to X that if they didn't remove it I was chopping it out of the containment I fitted which also helped move them quickly.
