We have lots of them and they are all on Cisco ASAs, small offices have 5505s and larger offices have larger ciscos in the same range, bulletproof bits of kit, never let us down etc...

This buy out isn't a new thing this happened in time for BETT this year as I remember talking to various people about it and how it would be interesting going forward as Jonas bought another firm before Cunninghams who also had a Cashless solution so for the future which would last would they merge the two products or keep both going forever, I would say reading that sounds like they have been stuffed by a third party and now using the tools they have from the larger position they now are and are using the tools they gained to start moving people over.

You should ensure you use a Credit Card to add additional protection as well that always seemed to be recommended by people on the news when a lot of cheap firms were going bust over the last few years.

I know it sounds obvious but did you read the release notes in full and follow the correct process to upgrade as I've seen that before where people go meh fixes a bug and just install and it can bugger things up which isn't the vendors fault if you don't read the guide in full.

If the cab you are looking at put it in is on a wall check its actually secured correctly, I'm sure I recall @Gatt having fun with a cab starting to come from a wall with servers on top of it or something along those lines many moons ago

I use it to push Flash updates on chained WSUS servers around the world so its got about 10 sub WSUS boxes to talk to on top of the main one we have here so its a busy tool but works reasonably well so well worth looking into

The other way to do it if you only have 1x UPS is put one to the UPS and the other to the mains (on a clean fed supply obviously), so if your UPS dies (glares at most APC toys) you keep going and can swap the UPS out without the world ending and visa versa.

How big is the trolley? You can get mains powered speakers for £40 or so from CPC or a portable PA so if they need a bit of Mic for shouting you could do that in with it

Agree with Greed when I had to deal with it it was an access database, had its moments at times and at that time needed them to be very hands on to do anything with it eg installs, configs, setups etc.. so was a bit of a pain in the bum. Maybe its improved since then as this was a few years ago but MS access urgh!

the ticks also work on group messages now you go into the info on the message and it tells you whos read it snazzy no more hiding from people in groups

Yep moved 2010 to 2014, most have been new installs and then re-make the jobs but one of our sites did the inplace upgrade, it worked ok and its fine he hates it compared to 2010, i don't mind it compared to 2010 but I think the guy whos site has been upgraded didn't have many jobs so the new layout is a bit more time consuming for him where as I've got too many jobs so its new views are quicker for me. Think of 2014 as very server / system centric VS the old one which was job centric, but yep been using it since it came out in test before production and its a good upgrade, as you said 2012 was evil they took too many things away like job monitor (as no one would ever quickly want to see if something was running right?!) but they undid the stupidity in 2014 and its been great.

We have some kit that is several U's of BTs in one of our racks, all the lines say disconnected / not terminated and we don't see anything indicating life / usefulness but its effort to un-rack it and take it on the tube etc...
