I have had contact from Microsoft yesterday with the same issue I logged a call before Christmas. I am trying to reproduce the issue to send them a fiddler log, but I am finding it hard to find some body who is still having the issue. I have a question though, they have said that people who are having the fault are having it with the same specific emails but I think it's more random than that. As I am sure it works sometimes and not others with the same email. How are you finding the issue?

Hi I am just finishing off my schools new rds solution, but when running tests with staff I have had a few state that when they login through the rd web access page. If they click on either the remote apps or the remote desktop link it prompts for authentication again. But it wont let them connect. I find it strange as 5 other staff were logged on fine when looking at the rds server connections. Don't think it's the SSL certificate as they are not getting any prompts. Any idea what could be causing this? Jon

Yep that's who I mean. Just contact someone from the business team and they should be able to sort it. Otherwise you could contact Meadowfield site. Also there's United Carlton in Gateshead.

Have you tried contacting ICTSS? Might be the cheapest way of getting them serviced.

Skype for Business Unified Comms / IP Telephony
jslate1980 replied to jslate1980's topic in Hardware
Looking at cisco CUCM requirements its not supported. As for Zeacom I think it will work, but our current telephony support provider have stated it won't. Being honest I don't think Cisco is the right solution for my school. -
Hi My schools current Cisco IP Telephony is in need of replacement. With my decision to go with hyper-V instead of VM Ware I am a bit stuck as CCUM/Zeacom voicemail cannot be run on hyper-V environment. I am currently looking at other solutions and wondering if anyone is using Skype for Business Unified Comms? Regards Jon

office 365 Services not available (can you check yours)
jslate1980 replied to round2it's topic in Cloud Services
We are having the same issue. Been having it on and off since last week. -
That's a shame. I implemented office 365 over the summer as well and so far have had a lot of interest. Staff are using more of the features than I expected such as one note.

Hi I am currently looking for a facility booking system for external users. My school has a great sports facilities that we book out to the community. We currently use EZfacility but at £2500 a year, is there any cheaper alternatives around? Not looking for a open source alternative. Just looking for ways to cut cost.

What about Sims Personnel manager? Dunno the cost. We use Ascon education which comes in at £1500.

Hi Is anyone else having issues with missing app tiles in navigation for users of office365?
-
Tbh I am having the same issue with them. Sent off three fiddler logs and no further forward. Hopefully the sharepoint team will be able to help.
-
Yep that's the same issue we are having. Unfortunately its happening to several members of staff at my place.
-
Hi Edu-IT are you still having issues? Microsoft have passed the issue over to their sharepoint team. I hoping they work out the issue soon.
-
What licence have you assigned to students? Office 365 education for students is the one I assign.

Think Stone group have free coffee on.

Actually I have just got this from them. Please connect to windows powershell and run cmd for affected user Get-Mailbox -Identity [email protected] | fl Get-OwaMailboxPolicy for the user and we will compare the outputs for working and non-working users and then check. Also please try to open affected users account in different browsers and check if the issue is reproducible

I am having the same issue at the moment. Got seven staff complaining. Logged a ticket with Microsoft and they want me to provide a fiddler trace.

Timbo343 did you create a guide?

Hi We seem to be having a driver issue with connecting uno boards. When running code we get this error: avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device "\\.\COM3": Access is denied. Is there anything that I need to do to get it communicating properly for students? Jon

Hi I am just getting used to our exchange 2013 hybrid solution but confused on how to do this through exchange management console. Currently for child safety we create email addresses for students in this format 'Random 3 numbers [email protected](e.g. [email protected])'. For staff the user alias matches their email address so all I need to do is. 1. Create account in AD 2. Run Full AD Synch 3. Log on Exchange Hybrid and access Exchange Management Shell 4. Type in: Enable-RemoteMailbox [email protected] -RemoteRoutingAddress [email protected] Set-RemoteMailbox -Identity [email protected] -EmailAddresses @{add='[email protected]'} But this doesn't work for students as their email address and alias don't match so I end up having to first create an email address matching the alias then changing the proxyaddress attribute using ADSI edit so it is correct. Is there a simpler way of doing this in a hybrid environment without creating the mailbox onsite and migrating it up? Jon

Hi Since migrating to office 365 I have had a number of staff say they are having issues opening docx attachments. When the attachment opens in word online they get an error - Sorry, Word Online ran into a problem opening this document. To view this document please open it in Microsoft Word. This seems to be random as it sometime opens the document and sometime doesn't? Jon

We are having issues with a few students not being able to view all office online apps from the navigation menu?
-
I think you can only change it individually. There is no way to bulk change the setting https://community.office365.com/en-us/f/148/t/402038

Yep you were right looks like dns has scavenged the A and AAA records for direct access which is causing the nls issues.
