Just wondering if you've found any really good KS1/2/3 SCORM resources on you net travels! I've found a few recently which I have posted links for below, just wondering if anybody else has come across any other banks of resources. Does anyone know how to easily create SCORM packages, I've looked at the eXe stuff and it's still a little confusing, anyone made any examples. Is there a SCORM to make a SCORM (paradox!!!) I don't believe my opinions should be policed or controlled for the sake of a few people who might find my comments offensive. They don't have to read it, and if they do read it and have a problem, they should probably speak to me first as it is my opinion that they may have to change. Being forced to change your opinion by means of "tell tailing" is something for the kids to do within school, not for a mature adult relaxing at home with a beer (i nearly changed that for some reason) and some music. Believe it or not theres some horrible horrible things on the internet, are you made to read/view them?!?!?! Do the owners of these sites have anything thrown at them? We block them in school and move on, people don't like what I'm writing on Facebook then it's as simple as that. " - Remove as a friend" Boom. -

Yes which dismisses the arguament of a public display of 'profanity'! If teachers are stupid enough to add parents and students to their facebook then fair enough, they should have legal consequences, but this isn't the case here! Could'ves and would'ves aren't enough to string someone up, even if that's what we're all made to think. "They could've been hurt"......but they weren't! "They could have been offended if they saw it"......but they didn't! (until it was made public by the papers!!!!) -

I'm sorry Witch, although I agree with you in your example, this is completely different. Teacher's shouldn't add students to facebook, simple as.... This however is some meddling so and so jumping onto a facebook status that does not mention ANY names whatsoever. They are not doing anything apart from stating their opinion, freedom of speech. I think it is absolutely absurd, the screenshot has absolutely no names and looks very carefully worded. It doesn't incriminate anyone! You are right, it is rediculous and the person responsible should be extremely ashamed of themselves. We promote the use of VLE's / the internet / online resources, then damn the very people who actually use them! It is this lack of common sense by authorities that overspend tax payers money time and time again -
If you have the skills and experience to work in the private sector then peoples opinions shouldn't matter. You have to make them understand your role and what security measures you have to put in place to control students (and teachers) etc etc If you go in with a negative attitude that is all you will portray, working in a secondary school is like a medium sized business, if you keep that in mind during writing C.V's / interviews then you will be laughing. It's down to us to change the image of school techs!

It is absolutely disgusting, what a teacher does in their spare time has nothing to do with anyone else. The person who made the accusations needs to focus on their own life rather than ruining everyone elses! What an absolute waste of taxpayers money, all for an absolutely innocent comment about her day, rediculous and appauling. To think the people who have suspended her probably claim hundreds in expenses and she's the one to be strung up!!!! -
Which VLE are you using? In Moodle when setting up a course you are able to choose a certain way to show the course, SCORM is one of them. Select this if using Moodle and select the SCORM package you wish to use. Once you have ran through the course settings, name, type etc it will then extract for you and your course will be laid out in a SCORM layout (which is often better than most manual ones). I'd believe whichever VLE you are using they will have a similar setup, try adding a new course and looking through the various options until you come across SCORM. Hope this helps *edit* SCORM will self extract onto your VLE through the SCORM options. Once you get the idea it's a brilliant way to put plenty of content onto your VLE

A nicely worded letter sent home where the child and his/her parents must also sign. A description of what a good resource email is and how it will set them up for secondary school and future life. Then a bulleted list of expectations from the pupils declaring what is appropriate and what is not, run off a photocopy, send them home with each child and anyone who doesn't bring them back is blocked. Anyone violating the terms is then blocked with a letter home explaining their actions?

Gladstone haven't been too bad with our system, a few teething problems but they have recently released some newer software and since then no real problems at all.

Well as I renounced my primary school title, I'm back in the fray. Loving being back in a nice small school with wonderfully behaved children, makes me wonder why I ever left to do secondary Long live the Primary School Techs (well not too long, i want to expand the business ) -
Primary sole tech/secondary support tech - which to choose?
apoth0r replied to znova's topic in Educational IT Jobs
You can learn a lot from being in a team in a secondary, things you can take into the primaries if/when you decide to slot into that field. Nothing like talking with others about the subject areas you are passionate about -
Could I have a quote for 6 Dell PC's (or better alternative) - WinXP Pro 160gig hdd 2gig ram 17" monitor onboard sound/lan/graphics keyboard & mouse Looking to spend under £325 per unit Many thanks in advance

The mod rokslideshow has probably been changed position somehow, if you want it at the top it needs to be in the "user1" position i believe. As a side note the red on red in the header image/logo is quite hard to read! Might want to contrast it a little.

I feel bad that mine still works

Depends how light fingered the kids are and whether the teachers are able to keep the pens locked away. I love the promethean software, it's brilliant, it's just the problems with pens going missing, the board is useless without! That's where i find the smartboards a little better, because even without the pens you can still write on them.
