  1. Will always remember the legendary IT teacher who used to refuse to teach us about editing in paint and tought us vb scripting instead. Who refused to teach us how to copy and paste but how the path between you typing google.com and getting the page on your screen worked. And come to think of it, the techies hated her. Partly because she thought she knew what she was doing when she logged into the DC and shut it down thinking it was her PC.
  2. Can you send that Intel GFX patch my way? Many thanks!
  3. On the newer laptops, yes you can disable in BIOS. The ones I was dealing with were old Toshiba things. Have you defined option 60 in DHCP to PXEClient?
  4. Does it look for a DHCP address in the PXE boot interface? Can you see that happen? Do you get a message such as Cable not connected? Or a PXE response error? Also, sounds recidulous but ive had to remove the WLAN card from laptops before in order for PXE boot to function. Matt
  5. Oh how I knew of this sooner!
  6. +1 for Wix. My company website is built and hosted in Wix and never have an issue. Very easy to build too, easy drag and drop interface.
  7. Did you disable the libraries? If so how did you do it?
  8. Sorry, I was unclear in what I was saying. Do you need the library feature? If not, disable it and the locations cannot be changed.
  9. From what I can remember when migrating here is that Documents is a library feature. We disable libraries here and everybody uses their mapped network drive as their save location.
  10. Supermarkets have found traces of Zebra in their barcodes...
  11. 100% Windows 7 at Main site. 2 of my primarys have plans for upgrading in Easter.
  12. Is MDT free? ie is it the same as WDS, just a role on the server? Does it have to be licensed?
  13. Actually id prefer to pick the image the normal way on the client, would I just remove the domain.name password WDSUser Student.WIM Student Student 0 1 Never from the server unnatend?
  14. I see! OK, ill give these a go, thanks!
  15. Thanks, and i'd use that instead of my current unnatend.xml?
  16. Im quite new to WDS. I have it set up and working, taking and deploying images with no problem. But I want to be able to start a machine off PXE booting and leave it. Today i used the XML DT2 gave me and it worked a treat but i'd like to automate the deletion of partitions and continue (and any other steps). Would I just use the XML Arthur has provided in place of the XML DT2 provided? "You'd be better of using the WDS way, you use Windows PE unattended to set the image and format the disk, and attach it to the server properties unattended section, then have the post deployment unattended xml attached to the image itself." - Is this what Arthurs XML would do? Matt
  17. Duke5A thats exactly what im looking for, but where would I put / what would I do with this .xml file?
  18. Finally! A working unnatended install. Is there any way though to automate the deletion of any existing partitions and then install? Matt
  19. Brilliant, thanks. You may want to delete the post with the attatchment as it has your product key in it!
  20. Thanks DT. Will this work for Win 7 Pro?
  21. Ive tried and failed numerous time to get an unattended WDS installation working and cannot do it. Always get errors about unatend.xml. Please can somebody send me their working unnattend.xml file? Much appreciated, Matt.
  22. Lol, just found out they did mine becuase the caretaker refuses to let them into his office.
  23. Haha, not here! Some are even teaching assistants.
  24. Its also my office, and the adults here luckily are familiar with the rule "If you dont know what it is, dont touch it". Besides all they do is empty my bin!
  25. No thankfully. There is an extension lead behind the white shelved I use for laptops etc.
