The school were sick of me "Disrupting" their IT lessons in the suite so gave me my own room after 3 years! Yeah, shelves, plenty of storage, air conditioning. Yes they are, for why do you ask?

Its something the LA set up which im "Not allowed to touch". But to my knowledge there is no delay at users starting SIMS.

We have SIMS on our master WDS image. Its not a major thing as it just pulls the update from the SIMS drive and install silently at startup.

Does it do this for an admin? Anything in client event logs? Are you using SP1? How many machines? Are they laptops? Ive seen this with a damaged HDD (turns our user had dropped laptop and broken HDD).

Rebooting your servers wont fix this, unless its an AD issue? I was refering to our remote desktop servers that users literaly log on to.

Why are we not updating to 1.4.2 or whatever it is now? Not sure what mods are installed?

We've had this on some of our RDS servers.. A reboot fixes it.. Until it happens again lol.

All of our schools break up spread over next week but as a company i finish on the 21st then back on the 3rd.

If you need I can give you the details of the guy who we had come in to look at one of ours? Would need an hour or two till im on site though. Matt

Precisely why our schools stopped using them, they're just so unreliable and we agreed as a company we would stop supporting it as we were getting emegergency call outs for the flipping things! Matt

I can't find a thread on this anywhere else so here goes! Ive been tasked with drawing out our current IT suites and wondered what software you use? Preferably some dedicated room design software with ready made benches, pc's etc. Matt

The head of IT (Teaching staff) here does a weekly sweep of the school to ensure all is ok in each classroom and then logs it with me to be fixed.

If you run rsop.msc what do you get?

We have Win 7 clients with 08R2 and a gigabit network and tend to find logins take 20 seconds ish. Also depends if you use profiles or redirected desktops or the likes. Just taken over a new school where the old tech had made a new GPP for literally EVERYTHING. Every individual lockdown change he had a seperate policy for, logons took 4 mins +!

+1 thats the only solution we could fine here to fix that problem. An XP repair on every affected laptop.

I tend to roll all my installs into one policy, all my lockdowns into one policy (one each for staff & students), but create individual policies for anything more specific ie per application firewall rules.

Sysman do you have the full size image of that? Please could I have it? Would get a few funny looks here too!
