Taskbar Colour Change through GPO
fairm010 replied to samwells1234's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
You'll need different wallpapers for a start. Our most common resolution here is 1920 x 1080 so I created a Red and a Blue wallpaper in Paint.net with a 1920 x 1080 canvas size. Put them in a shared area. Create and assign GPO's to staff and students pointing to their respective wallpaper. If the PC's GPU supports Aero it will be enabled by default and the wallpaper will show behind the taskbar. -
I had major issues getting our mitm cert installed on our Kindles. In the end we gave up and the librarian takes them home.

Taskbar Colour Change through GPO

Our Aero task bars change colour based on the wallpaper behind. We have a different wallpaper for staff and students which works well. -
Arreks is right. The connect.ini is just that. A file to connect your SIMS client to the SIMS server. The dialog box is part of the SIMS.net application and is coded to that size. Why do you need to change it anyway?

I'd go to this key in the registry, having all the proxy settings entered as you want in IE. Then export the key an use that with your logon script. [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]
-
You can do it like that yes. But have you tried the GPP way, assuming you have Server 2012?
-
What OS? My entry works fine on Win 7 Pro x64
-
Did you copy mine or Michaels reg entry?
-
Youve saved it as a .vbs. Its a .bat.
-
What is the Syntax error?
-
Id same in the same directory as your logon script, the netlogon directory. The path in your logon script must point to the .reg file.

I do this with my UniFi controller. I use "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -k https://unifi:8443/login -

Holy mother of all that is holy. That fence backflip was unexpected! -
But.. Here is your script. I'd do a reg entry (Proxyon.reg) Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings] "ProxyEnable"=dword:00000001 "ProxyServer"="10.0.0.20:8080" And then use a .bat to merge it: @ ECHO OFF ECHO. ECHO. ECHO Applying school proxy settings, please wait... ECHO. ECHO. regedit /s proxyon.reg ECHO. ECHO. ECHO School proxy settings applied succesfully! ECHO. ECHO. EXIT

Ah yes, should have mentioned that. I am Server 2012 R2 domain with Win 7 x64 clients.

They removed IE maintenance with IE10 but you can do Internet Options via GPP.

fairm010 replied to sted's topic in Wireless Networks
I always use IE with the UniFi controller. Ive had problems with it in Chrome and Firefox -
I believe you cannot on the PaperWhite. We have 5 here in the library but due to not being able to install our HTTPS cert we cant access the Amazon book store (whatever they call it). They are taken home by the librarian to install books.

My understanding is, on our DL380p's at least, is that they are both live and powering the thing so if one fails there is no power loss. I have each PSU connected to a different UPS and there has been no problem.

My bad: Chrome 38.0.2125.111
-
No cert error here. Chrome 33 & IE11
-
Yeah you are going to want to change Roaming to low, so that they are less inclined to roam.

It's quite unique having a primary setting but also having to be secondary orientated. Thanks, this is all stuff I can throw towards SLT

I did this for a while. Talk to @ICTDirect_Dave for one of his HP machines.
