  1. So many punchlines.... so little time LOL
  2. As this is getting closer - how is everyone getting there, and where are people staying??? Finally, and also importantly - after show drinks (or night before drinks for long distance travellers like me!!)...?? Stuart
  3. AUM works fine on Server 08 here...
  4. Yes you can do the "restrict number of people" sent to at once... Powershell will be your new friend... get-distributiongroupmember groupnamehere | Set-Mailbox -RecipientLimits 10
  5. Im sure we have some scripts here which do that (except for infrastructure which still insists on throwing the full screen dialog!!). I think they were probably adapted from here as I remember researching this. I will track them down and post them on my blog later today :-D
  6. Thumbs up for AUM here too... It will also do the add to group if you put the groups you want in the template for the OU. Have a gander at the user guide - it tells you how to do it. Only one down point on it is that it cant do Exchange 07 mailboxes... Otherwise - AUM is spot on!! :-)
  7. There is also a free version of this called ClickView Lite. We just got approval for this - but you need to check to see if your county has a broadcast licence.
  8. We've had the preparation meeting too... but as we already host our own Sharepoint environment, it came a bit late for us. There are some bits of it that I like... some I dont. I think South Dartmoor are using it, as are Newton Abbot. There is an SWGFL Techs meeting on Mon tho so will see if I can get some more names (and them match them to eduGeek names!!)
  9. Rob - Ive tried PM-ing you about my issues. To make everyone else aware - this the situation we are in. Our reseller - has been talking to UK distribution since end of Jan 09. We got SynchronEyes back in July 08. Jan 09 SmartSync comes out. No notification to us (I found out by chance at BETT) - and also we arent entitled by the look of things at mo to FOC upgrade. Every other manufacturer would offer this - especially when we bought a site licence. We are being offered £6k upgrade, which is crazy when the original purchase was less than this (around £1800 site license originally)! This has now been going on back and forth for months and is unacceptable. Someone from Smart needs to clarify what the deal is here - because just "batting" us away will not solve the issue. There are other suppliers out there, and experiences like this sour the taste with all Smart products not just their software. Please help! Stuart
  10. Me = registered. Looks like should be good... Shame I cant get CPD for being out tho!!
  11. Did a quick search and couldn't find another thread so thought should start one. Hijacking Alex's slides from the EduGeek conference... conference on 15th July 09 in Birmingham. http://www.learninggatewayconference.co.uk/ Whos going... and shall we sort out a get together whilst we are at it!
  12. Our speed is ok here... will wait and see if the new 9.5 upgrade has anything in it too....
  13. Yes it sure can - if you use a program like USB Drive Letter Manager. This ensures that USB sticks always go on the same drive letter, and you can therefore specify them as disallow. Best way tho is to use disallow overall - with specific allows. You need to do your homework on anything that requires write access first before changing this main setting. I sense a blog post coming up.....! It mite be on the WIKI already tho so worth takin a look there.
  14. Happy Birthday
  15. I had wondered what my sharepoint server was up to... the search pane has already changed to show the bing logo rather than the old live logo when returning external results.
  16. House party at James' Good plan.... hehehe.

  20. Oooh - nice! V Nice! James you need to put me in touch with your sources.... Very much alive and kicking... only just though! Damn bbq food - and no i wasnt cookin lol
  21. UPDATED: 1. WSS3 and MOSS2007 SP2's both installed and nothing is broken.... yet!! :-) 2. Server 2008 SP2 installed on most boxes, but now need to resize the OS partition as this wasnt done properly first time grrrr :-( 3. 1 ICT Suite rebuilding today, the other later in the week. 4. A skip has taken away most of the junk :-) 5. Started playing with our Samsung MagicInfo-i system again. New software to tryout....
  22. Our helpdesk software (ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus) auto inventories anything network aware. Monitors and Projectors - barcode scanner and entered in the same place.
  23. I got the notification from VLS a few weeks back (think it was released at the start of the month). The two server rebuilds today have been straight Svr 08 SP2 builds as the combined slipstream is also on Technet and VLS. Seems a bit quicker on the same hardware - particularly the MMC consoles. Going to do an inplace upgrade on one of the other boxes later. Not tried the Vista SP2 upgrade yet - but its the same SP, so should be the same scenario I expect.
  24. Ah - if you had a previous version of the solution on your environment - you would end up with an assembly version mis-match to what is registered as safe in your web.config. Remember - that your web.config reflects the internal unique identifier in the assembly dll. This does change between versions. With a copy of the webpart already on a page - you would therefore get this error as the webpart on the page (old version) would not match the assembly. Glad you are all sorted - sorry I didnt see the problem sooner to save you some head scratching.
  25. I will check the logs for you and see if I can find something BIG!! LOL. I dont think there has been anything major. Easy to manage tho, and v2 looks like it will be really good too.
