  1. 90% of the problems we experience when moving schools is that Staff don't do the training and then complain they don't know how to do anything.
  2. Little disappointed with SignIn app, their costs (Core) have risen quite a lot recently.. Jan 2024 - £345 Jan 2025 - £365 Jan 2026 - £415 + MIS integration costs. Still cheaper than other solutions, but 20% in two years seems a lot.
  3. Ofsted to check phone policies and 'tougher' guidance coming: https://schoolsweek.co.uk/ofsted-to-check-schools-phone-policies-and-tougher-guidance-coming-dfe/#comments-start Ofsted being responsible for checking phone policies is an interesting thing...
  4. Not the most helpful, but I feel the Checklist needs updating https://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/ck1.pdf Dated 2013 and makes reference to balls and rollers in mice - not something I have had the joys of cleaning for a while.
  5. Unless I read this wrong, for three displays, Displayport & HDMI & VGA isn't an option: Which is what I assume you have?
  6. Might be worth having an SEN point box as well as TLR? (ads were slightly intrusive on mobile)
  7. There does seem to have been a push (especially from Digital ID) in the last two years or so away from printing on cards with chips. So much so that I fell out with my new account manager over it. We have printed 1000's of cards on our IDP Smart 50 and for the most part had no problems. We did have a batch of Paxton cards around Covid times that seemed to be poor quality. The chips were clearly visible and the printing didn't adhere at all (wasted / returned quite a few packs of cards). But since then, business as usual. We have several schools using Magicard Pronto - and none have reported printing problems with them either.
  8. Can't be much help, sorry, but I have used this in the past to peek inside the database - sadly it is read only: https://www.intoaccess.com/?page_id=674&lang=en But it might help you find the tokens?
  9. I think that response is a little confused. An M365 Group is "soft deleted", but not a distribution list. They seem to be providing instructions for an M365 group even though the query was about lists.
  10. I think you can re-use pretty quick. For testing I: Created a DG Sent and received an email to the DG Deleted the DG Created the Shared Mailbox Added user to Shared Mailbox Sent email to Shared Mailbox Received email in Shared Mailbox Took about 4 mins.
  11. Intermittant cloudflare problems https://www.cloudflarestatus.com/
  12. Yea, warning has gone
  13. I would imagine a lot of people use Salamander? https://www.salamandersoft.co.uk/paxton-net-2/
  14. Unlimited storage. Indictative costs are here https://www.edugeek.net/forums/topic/222667-cloud-backup-prices/page/2/#comments But get a quote from a reseller - Redstor prices are high (we use Stone).
  15. Going to wait for the windows update if it is just a display problem.
  16. Have a 1 there, still complains on Windows Update GUI.
  17. It can be more awkward when Head Offices are in managed offices. But, the same can be said of people WFH - what are you doing about those people?
  18. +1 for ShredOS, uses nwipe (DBAN fork) - that can wipe multiple drives at once. Used to use an old HP Microserver to wipe 4 at a time. These days just tend to physically destroy the SSD.
  19. KB5065429 should cover the update prerequisites.
  20. After 15 years driving urban traffic jams in a manual, I swapped to an auto and wouldn't go back. 7 years in Skoda DSGs and now 4 years in an EV. Occasionally the DSG would be in the wrong gear to what I thought it should be, but that was once in a blue moon.
  21. Does straight ffmpeg do a better option? ffplay -f dshow -i video="HUE HD Camera" -vf vflip
  22. How come? We haven't with ours and (to the best of my knowledge) it is working ok. (DMARC etc all setup on M365)
  23. For me, USB-C cable with PD and display over 3M have been a little un-reliable. Microsoft Surfaces seemed to hate them and never work, thinkpads were mostly ok. Admitedly they were just a variety of Amazon sources cables, but 3M seemed to work the best.
