  1. Live game streaming already in Beta Thats Mass Effect 2 in HD played on a stock EEE netbook, console makers might not get a choice in the matter.
  2. I am just grateful the school lets me pay them to work here
  3. Having been in Moscow in summer with temperatures exceeding 35 degrees I can vouch for this, it was also humid as hell at the time and sucked the energy out of you! Corruption is so rife it's unbelievable, I kept seeing BMW 7 series etc. driving around with blue lights on the roof and thought they must be diplomatic cars or something? Turns out if you have enough money you can 'buy' the right to use blue lights and tank it around wherever you like which is ironic given what a lot of the people in these cars do for a living.
  4. I'm just waiting for some H&S Electrical standards inspector to come along and comment about it's wiring safety before turning it off and taking it away.
  5. My 2006 Focus does, it seems strange that Volvo, a manufacturer you would think had to deal with some REAL winter weather doesn't include it? Same with BMW etc.
  6. Its the magic Ford heated windscreen, I can't believe other cars don't have it. Jump in on a morning, hit the magic button and play with my phone for a couple of minutes, quick go of the wipers and you are off!
  7. The newer Garmin Nuvi widescreen models are good, big screen and clear, I don't think you are ever going to get round the problem of glitches in navigation because the map data will always be wrong somewhere, I remember taking a TomTom to Spain a few years ago and it tried to send me down one way streets (the wrong way) and once it tried to make me join one of the Autovias (motorways) by driving up the off ramp! I just sold a Nuvi 255W which was good but didn't have the lane assist, if I was buying another I would use the Nuvi 1690 but I decided for me personally Google Maps on my droid was good enough.
  8. BECTA recommendations including desk heights etc. listed here The spacing recommendations seem to be quite generous and I would imagine not always doable unless it is a purpose built IT suite.

My pet hate with parking is in most flats with allocated parking they only allocate one space per flat (apparently thats all they are allowed to allocate for environmental reasons) whereas most of the people living in flats like this are young couples etc. or flatmates with a car each so you end up with a bloody nightmare and you can kiss goodbye to one of the visitor spaces ever being used by an actual visitor.

Anyone remember an old Amiga/Atari/PC game called Midwinter II : Flames of Freedom ? It was the first free-roaming game and in some ways was like a very early GTA, you could jump into any vehicle and there was lots of different types. I lost many early years to that game and never came close to completing it!

Online original Half Life, there was a map with a nuclear bunker? You could go in and activate a nuke and then the blast door would start to close and there was a mad scramble when the klaxons went off with everyone simultaneously trying to get into the bunker before the door closed AND kill each other at the same time.....awesome.
  12. I've got second chance pro and quite like it, nothing as satisfying as going down and wasting the guy that got you with a pistol then getting revived! Hardline pro sounds very interesting though. I seem to remember reading that any kills from ANY killstreak rewards don't count towards your killstreak? In MW2 it just used to be the care package kills that didn't count iirc?

The Omaha beach landing from MoH was brilliant and quite moving in a way, I remember saying "f***ing hell!" several times just from the weight of fire spanging off metal and squadmates dropping around you! Oblivion coming out of the sewers into the world for the first time, real wow moment.
  14. Have you tried MAG on the PS3? It is a proper team based game and good fun, the problem is unless you play with mates you can end up with a bunch of COD kids ( I love COD don't get me wrong but I also love Battlefield etc.) going all lone wolf and ignoring objectives etc.
  15. Nobody likes a quitter! :-) On a serious note I have felt the same way, I remember playing WoW a massive amount (and Eve Online before that) a few years ago and I enjoyed it, nowadays I play a lot of FPS but I think that is at least partially to do with not having as much time, at least with CoD etc. you can dip in and out of it, with WoW and Eve it wasn't really worth it unless you had a solid few hours in a block to devote to it.
  16. Not overly keen, I myself am an atheist but I don't go out of my way to mock religion however I think I should have that right given some of the stuff religion has been responsible for both in the past, present and almost certainly future! This means if a particular group, lets take a sect of the Jedi religion for an example, decides they are going to force their female members to dress up like princess leia (Jabba's slave) then I would like to be able to mock them for being a bunch of nutters with a warped view of women without being accused of breaching their 'human rights' by defaming their religion.
  17. I've got to say I wasn't as gripped by the single player story as with MW2, I felt more 'attached' to Price and Soap etc. It was enjoyable enough but at the end of both MW and MW2 I was left thinking 'this is amazing' whereas with Black Ops I was a lot more 'Meh'. Multiplayer on the other hand is awesome, I love Gun Game, shame there is no XP for it.
  18. Only experience I have had is through my brother, he had a Hyundai Coupe a few years back and kept it for about 6 months, never had any problems with it, ended up selling it because he wanted something faster. I would certainly consider buying one although couldn't bring myself to buy a brand new car of any make!
  19. Thanks for this, I just bought the pack for the gaming club I run at school. Some decent looking RP'ing resources in there.
  20. *ding* grats! I never used to do PvP but when my rogue hit 80 I had good times going to WG and getting all stabby on mages/priests etc. It can be quite good fun when you get into it but I totally agree on the raiding, I don't have guaranteed solid blocks of time to invest in a 25 man raid or something so I miss out on that part, plus the beauty of WoW I find is just being able to pootle around doing your own thing.
  21. Fallout 3, best perk? For me it has to be either the Mysterious Stranger or the perk that added more chance of gory explosions.
  22. I think that Fallout 1 and 2 were PC only but I might be wrong.
  23. Dam, I loved Fallout 3 although was a little upset at the ending! Will definitely get New Vegas but should I get it for the PC or Xbox?
  24. From what I remember of my course we covered those things but like I said I would certainly do refresher training.
  25. Our librarian upgraded to eclipse.net because it was demo'd to her and it looked shiny (basically). It costs a ludicrous amount of money but the absolute kicker is she comes to us for tech support, we tell her to ring the people SHE has paid for tech support and she whines that she can't do it because IT is surely our job. I really really really wish they would ask someone from IT to go on the interview panel so they can get a measure of how IT literate they are. In my eyes a librarian has to be reasonably IT literate, ours is not and it means MLS effectively get a large sum of cash for support which they don't even have to provide.
