  1. My LEA basically says no contact with students outside of school, I think the rule was originally designed for social networking but I presume it extends to things like the PSN / Xbox Live as well. I just wondered if this was the same everywhere? I run a gaming club at school and of course many of the students who attend play various COD/Halo games online and keep badgering me to add them so they can kick my ass (they wish ) which I have to keep explaining I can't do.
  2. I have been sadly absent from Liam's server recently due to being ridiculously busy! But I can vouch for his knowledge especially in the trans-continental railway department
  3. Some nice ladies there but I was seriously impressed by Big Daddy, Marcus Fenix and Master Chief. For the sake of balance The 20 Worst Cosplay Photos | HEAVY Site is NSFW
  4. I'm not sure about the service being provided voluntarily clause being satisfied as we would be salaried employees. I suspect it might be up to individual councils as well, I was categorically told by Leeds that to do the MIDAS training you had to have D1 already on your licence. I too can see a growing problem as more and more staff don't have D1, it would seem to make sense especially for larger councils to actually have some training in house for such things.
  5. I have asked the question but I am not hopeful The training company I just spoke to said the D licence (coach) covers you for anything with more than 8 seats (including our 16 seat minibus for example) and therefore would cover minibuses but it does cost significantly more money to do. It does seem mad when you put it like that, I am confident I could pass the test with training as I have driven similar size vehicles before but I can't see the school taking a punt on it with the cost being so high. Mind you, they have spent more on some absolute crap before!
  6. Right, basically I am running the D of E group here with one of the teachers, unfortunately I passed my car licence after Jan 1st 1997 and therefore am considered dangerous to drive anything other than a car (or milk float) whereas if I had passed my test on the 31st December 1996 I could drive 7.5 tonners etc. [/rant] Anyway one quote for doing my D1 was £960 Does anyone know if this is normal?? Secondly I have been told that for not much more you can do a coach licence, does anyone know if that would still cover minibuses?
  7. Yeah, my nice waterfall/mob trap I showed you, guess what happened while I was tinkering with it? Creeper blew me up and most of the glass blocks, dammit!
  8. Bit of an in-joke for minecrafters. http://gamefrosting.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Creepers_by_TurnThePhage.png
  9. Apparently its popular with a lot of the kids in our school too, I think it is quite healthy in terms of being a constructive thing and there isn't any blood gore etc.
  10. Any chance of posting a map up using Cartograph or something Liam? Show the geeks what the world looks like? I moved away from your buildings for room and promptly dug into a pretty big underground cavern!
  11. This ^ The absolute cack that gets bundled with new laptops especially, I wonder how many virus infections have occurred because someone gets a new laptop with a Norton trial on it and thinks "Oh I'm protected now" then six months later their laptop stops working and they bring it to me. Me: Do you have up to date AV software on it? Them: Yes it came with Norton Me: How long have you had the laptop? Them: Six months Me: (groan) Did you subscribe after the trial expired? Them: Did I sub-what? Me: I see.......
  12. The atomic number of Caesium?
  13. I've got about three sites in SP on the go but it's not the same without someone else around. PM being sent very soon LiamH. I like it when you get a big enough area walled off and can just laugh at the mobs outside, its still tense being outdoors at night though trying to get stuff done and then you hear the Zombie groan noise and have to leg it!
  14. I was just wondering if anyone plays this? Something about it appeals to me in a 'back to basics' gameplay sense and having read the efforts of other forums the collaborative aspect of mining and constructing pretty much anything you can build with blocks.
  15. Just wanted to say thanks for flagging this up, got some awesome bargains over the sale period and would likely have missed a lot of it otherwise!
  16. TBH I leave a thin layer, it isn't worth the extra hassle getting it all off and that very small amount isn't going to harm anyone, it will melt when it warms up.
  17. I use this (but then it is very rare I drink that much nowadays!): Rooibos Tea (or Redbush) Rooibos is a plant that is typically used to make herbal teas. This type of tea has been popular in South Africa for many years and is growing in popularity in western countries. It works as a great hangover cure due to its high level of antioxidants, its lack of caffeine, and its low tannin levels (compared to fully oxidized black tea or unoxidized green tea leaves). Another reason it is great for a hangover is because it has been shown that Rooibos helps with digestive problems and nervous tension. With it’s growing popularity Rooibos is available at most major grocery stores.
  18. The flipside of Steam is some outrageous prices for digital downloads, I was wanting to buy R.U.S.E. but Steam wanted £30 for it, a quick check on Amazon and its under £14, what's that about?
  19. Thats an uber-gran! Can she make good Yorkshire puds though?
  20. Well done for passing the 30k members mark edugeek! Next step, WORLD DOMINATION
  21. That is highly impressive, not particularly bothered about a detective game but the technology is sure to make its way into others.
  22. You wouldn't kick her out of bed if she farted though
  23. I think you can just add the guy to your favourite seller list so you get updates when he lists things and keep an eye out, if he did keep the processor and has a brain he will list it under another account though. Think you might have to chalk this one up to experience unfortunately
  24. I find it can be more peaks and troughs at xmas time, teachers tend to do something different like everyone watch films so that causes a big rush of jobs as they fail to operate DVD players etc. Once that has settled down we can just have dead periods.
  25. Is Earthen Ring an RP server? I'm thinking of starting a Worgen, I already have an 80 Human Rogue on Nordrassil but the Alliance there 90% of the time gets its ass handed to it in WG, not that I am a PvP legend but it would be nice to win sometimes!
