Win Christmas treats in VeryPC's mini-MADvent!
mac_shinobi replied to VeryPC's topic in Our Advertisers
Ruddy snowed under at work so missed out, sigh Ah well, I'm still ecstatic with my ruck sack that I won from the last competition !! @StevieM -
A few VM's at the same time , gaming, some video conversions, My thoughts are I can upgrade to 32gb RAM later by getting the same ram kit again so another 16gb ram kit and get the 4790k If I go with the 4690k, that will be a pain to sell and get the 4790k at a later date vs paying another £140 ish and getting the additional 16gb to bump it up to 32gb

wonder if it is a similar issue to this : http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-7/144034-java-8-r-25-proxy-not-being-used-issue.html If you try version 7 of java - is that the same or what exactly ? Presume the site is in the white list / exception list ( under security settings via control panel --> java etc ) -
Same here - I recently won an 850 Pro 512gb SSD , now chugging along nicely in my 2011 mac mini
-
stick to one ssd then, 512gb SATA SSD it is then. Failing that unless I get a PCIe SSD although possibly more money for one of those ?
-
Have a raid 1 of WD Red's and use something like ghost / acronis or whatever and restore from a live backup copy to the SSD's again ?
-
I know it isn't cheap but if you got two 256 850 pro samsung SSD's ( seeing as they have a 10 year warranty ) and RAID zeroed those together, claim under warranty when and if they failed ?? Possibly a bit cheaper else where but : http://www.ebuyer.com/657563-samsung-850-pro-256gb-sataiii-2-5inch-ssd-mz-7ke256bw

Windows 7 machine wifi connects but cannot browse the web
mac_shinobi replied to bodminman's topic in Windows 7
Reset the windows firewall to defaults either through control panel --> windows firewall --> restore defaults link ( left side ) --> click restore defaults button and click yes OR Control panel --> Windows Firewall --> Advanced settings link ( left side ) --> Action menu at the top --> Restore Default Policy and click yes Presumably when you say you removed the wireless driver, you ticked the tick box to delete all the drivers relating to it so that when you reboot it only shows up in device manager as an ethernet controller or network device or similar and then re install the driver only after restarting / rebooting windows and logging back in to obviously re install the latest driver(s) for said wifi card. Also as synack suggested ref removing and re installing any AV as I know some if not most AV products now have there own in built firewall ( to a degree ) presuming the resetting of the windows firewall does not help -
If you wanna DIY then let me know otherwise presume you will contact that company to repair them for you
