  1. 1) Outta cash so can't get anything to re fill it with 2) Don't feel confident enough doing that just yet 3) If and when I do that I would need to know how to clean it out and put new coolant or what ever back in and how to put it back together So for now will install inside the case Installing it outside will be a project for later on ..... Thanks for the info and suggestions Can get ic diamond in a few years once the cpu warranty expires and I will OC it later This cooler will keep it running nice and cool though
  2. Kelvin S36 is an All In One Unit so that would entail taking the tubes off the pump or something ( would end up with liquid every where ) : Fractal Design Unless I am missing something ? [ATTACH=CONFIG]28489[/ATTACH] OR http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2012/11/nzxt-phantom-820-review/phantom820-3b.jpg Think I will have to go with option 1 and install the radiator inside the case and the fans below pulling warm air through the rad PSU Wise - install the psu with the fan facing up so it sucks warm air out or face down so it is pulling in cooler air in through the dust filter(s) ? If I recall correctly I think hardware canucks did a review of this case and a brief mention of taking the top of the case off to install the radiator on top , not sure how much if any use that is ?
  3. Where would the tubes go if I got this ( tubes from Radiator to the pump ) taking into consideration I have ordered the NZXT Phantom 820 tower / case ? Only thing I can think of is that the bracket would be mounted on top of the case in the middle section and then the radiator would go in this bracket and the tubing go down through the roof of the case , presume this would mean I couldn't put the top of the case back on ? Not that putting the top of the case back on is an issue

I was thinking option 1 or 3 however, what mounting bracket would I need and how much would this cost ? length of the tubing from rad to pump block I believe is 320mm and I get an included PWM Splitter cable( 1 to 3 ) so I only use one PWM Connector on the motherboard to power and or control the 3 fans

  6. I have some plastic spudger tools so will try and use that to spread it and then apply the heatsink / pump unit ( whatever you want to call it ) Thank you @sonofsanta Just a case of waiting for all the other parts and building this when I have enough time to myself which will be the 25th

I will try and find a youtube video ref Thermal Paste application and the motherboard I have only has 4 RAM Slots so don't think it matters which memory module I insert into which memory slot on the board ? I would be very surprised if it does matter as have purchased the 32gb ram kit as one kit, so each of the ram modules should be exactly the same as the next one
  9. Been suggested that I use the TIM from the S36 or MX 4, IC Diamond was at least £10 and I've already spent more than I originally wanted to. Will check the manual on the S36 and use the TIM included with the S36 ...... ok Fine but use a new card to spread it near the corners or is there a good youtube video to show how to do this correctly etc

Will use this method ref pea size blob as can't be bothered using a card or something to spread the TIM, will check the manual on the Kelvin S36 but am sure this method is easier than mucking about trying to spread it out manually. If I need to clean the CPU off, I have a bottle of ethanol which I believe is 90% ( will confirm what it is later ) and cotton pads ok or cotton buds ??

  13. Is it worth using ethanol or rubbing alcohol to clean the cpu ( top metal part ) , copper part of heatsink and the card that will be used to spread the TIM before doing this to ensure no oils / grime etc ??
  14. Will watch that tonight - thanks Will look at the motherboard manual to see if it tells me letters or numbers etc of where to install said stand offs inside the case and that looks fairly straight forward Any card ref applying TIM so old bank card or what exactly ?

How do I know which stand off's to install onto the motherboard tray so that I am not using the wrong one's / too many or whatever This makes sense aside from bullet point 2 regards to this ^^^^ see what holes are on the motherboard and then some how establish which holes in the motherboard tray these correspond to so I can insert the stand off's on the motherboard tray and go from there Side note : What is the best method to apply thermal paste ? Little pea sized blob in the middle of the CPU ( ensure plastic is taken off the copper base ) and install the copper base of the S36 onto the CPU etc etc ?
  16. Don't do well with written instructions - any photos / video on youtube maybe ? I/O Shield Pins ? Thought the I/O shield clicked / clipped into the rear of the case and then install the motherboard ? Sorry - not trying to be hard work
  17. I did - edited my above post , top and bottom pins where go above and below what rear socket , what ? So basically insert the I/O Shield into the case --> Install motherboard at a slight angle so the rear I/O ports go through the relevant holes in the I/O shield itself and then slowly place the motherboard down so that the stand off's go into or through the relevant holes on the motherboard itself and then screw the motherboard down ( not too tightly ) just enough to hold it in place etc ??
  18. ok - so fit the I/O Shield onto the ports and then install the motherboard and screw it down into the stand offs through the relevant holes in the motherboard etc or put the I/O Shield into the rear of the pc case and then install the motherboard thus pushing the I/O Ports through the relevant holes in the I/O shield ?   20. Better guide on how you would / can install the motherboard onto the stand offs if you don't require plastic washers or similar ?

I know it is not a great image but basically you have the stand offs that are the metal pins / bars that put a gap between the motherboard and the motherboard tray ( if that is what you call it ) and then what I was on about or trying to refer to was the plastic or similar material washers that go between the stand off's and the motherboard and between the screw or whatever is holding the motherboard in place so that the metal from the stand offs / screws don't short the motherboard out http://www.legitreviews.com/images/reviews/1690/enermax_ets-t40-ta_024.jpg [ATTACH=CONFIG]28383[/ATTACH]
