DIY - I normally search google for the model and post fix hmm and or I have the lenovo service guide lines site which shows how to replace FRU's / same as the hmm ( hardware maintenance manual If you need confirmation of part numbers, call Lenovo up and give them the laptop details and they should be able to advise on what parts and what said part numbers are ( FRU ) and normally you can find said parts on ebay Order the relevant parts and once you have them with the relevant hmm sections printed off or the website ( which I will post later on ) and you can repair it yourself hmm = hardware maintenance manual If its a Lenovo ThinkPad T430 then you would search T430 hmm Or Lenovo T430 hmm Also easier to save the pdf to a working pc --> open it locally using a pdf reader / viewer and you can then use the bookmarks on the pdf to find the section(s) / pages you need

Airport Extreme on an enterprise scale
mac_shinobi replied to blundellm's topic in Wireless Networks
Thought UniFi you setup / configured the network via software so can setup VLAN's etc. Although think you would have to config the VLAN's on your switches and then connect the relevant controller to the relevant VLAN Port on the switch and do it that way maybe ? Failing that maybe setup different ip address ranges for different kit to seperate the traffic for bonjour etc- 6 replies

Airport Extreme on an enterprise scale
mac_shinobi replied to blundellm's topic in Wireless Networks
UniFi by this company - Ubiquiti Networks - Enterprise Or Ruckus - Welcome to Ruckus Wireless, Inc. | Ruckus Wireless, Inc. Depending on how much of a budget you have, best to get a professional survey done if you can afford that and go from there with regards to what kit to go with etc- 6 replies

1080P or UHD 4K Television Suggestions
mac_shinobi replied to mac_shinobi's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
PM Sent but basically 1) Getting computer parts on finance so I can build my pc up which will be used for a multitude of things - media centre ( music / videos ), test rig to learn more about virtualisation / exchange / server oses / dhcp / dns / fsmo roles / Gaming / Video transcoding and depending on how much it will cost might get either a NAS or at least two WD Red or similar drives and setup a raid one config on the pc 2) Telly depending on cost ( as per my original comment ) will either get as apart of the financed parts above or separately ( if financed as apart of the above items then will need to ensure I can get said telly from scan or ebuyer and will need to get all my computer parts from either ebuyer or scan ) unless someone has a suggestion of somewhere else that sells both TV's and computer parts on finance ? Thanks -

So basically get a decent 1080P Telly ( need suggestions still for 1080P TV's ) and get 4k Later on once the graphics cards have been updated / made better etc At least this is what I am thinking, although a 4k UHD set would be nice, am not sure the two suggested are any good , I remember looking at a review and think you need a 50" TV Set to make full use of 4k Thanks everyone -

Depending on the cost of the telly , can always upgrade the GPU later on for 4k gaming etc again this depends on how much a 4k screen will cost, if too much then will stick with a 1080p screen -

Bump - anyone ?? -
How much would one of those cost now ?
-
Basically going to be using a TV as a display for my PC that I am hoping to get built in January 2015 ( so in a months time or so ) Depending on cost I will either include it with purchasing the computer components or purchase the Telly separately Places that I am considering so far are : 1) If purchasing separately then Currys If purchasing with computer components then either 1) Scan 2) Ebuyer Has any one got any suggestions on anywhere else that I could purchase items from using finance ?? For the time being I just want to get some recommendations for 1080P LED HD TV's and some UHD 4K recommendations so I can see how much they will cost. I did see an LG IPS UHD 4k telly at currys a month or so ago but that cost a bit over £2,000, which is a lot more than I want to spend on a telly. Make wise for tellys I presume it will be the likes of Panasonic / Sony / LG, not sure about Samsung @Arthur

How would you... find this network point...
mac_shinobi replied to Joanne's topic in How do you do....it?
Think If I was you, I'd stick to your original plan, whack a pc on the other end ( where that switch would normally connect to ) so am presuming the lighter grey coloured cable and then see which port number lights up active and see which port number on the switch is patched into what port number ..... as stated above this will give you your answer unless you order and invest in a port tester tool ( again as stated and suggested above ) -
