How to make online banking harder curtesy of Lloyds TSB
aerospacemango replied to Dos_Box's topic in General Chat
Yayyyyy! First Direct ROCK! Phone them up, and usually the call is answered straight away....Do all my business, whilst being asked how my day is going....how my son is....Etc etc. Helpful staff with really good phone attitude! -
Excellent call.....Just installed on my Droid!

Surely that's one of the core functions of the internet..... anonimity! Ok, with a little digging, anyone on here could find out who I actually am, because I use the same log in on a few sites...... But what about "[email protected]"...The ID has just been initiated at an internet cafe, so how would they know it's me???? How would they know what signs to look for? They know to look for aerospacemango, but I've just become "Dave Gilmour" for the purposes, so they cannot trace me. Easy!

LG pad in early 2011, with many “firsts” – Honeycomb, dual-core Tegra 2, 8.9-inch screen « Media News « techshrimp.com This could well be worth waiting for..... At least worth a look when it comes out!

Was at Wembley arena in 2004 to see Duran Duran being supported by Scissor Sisters.... Needless to say, DD blew me and my gf away, and were brilliant. SS were good, but were playing to a half full house, at the time. This was also the first time that we felt our baby kick! Our son was born 5 months later and has a deep appreciation of good music.....I wonder why???? LOL!!

Level 42....Various, incl UEA, Ipswich Regent (Shook Mark King's hand AND got the set list!) and London a couplea times Genesis at Earls Court.......(90's) + the European Launch Party for "We Can't Dance" album @ Ronnie Scotts in Brum. Yes....Too many times to mention....Brilliant every time! Madness... The first Madstock in Finsbury Park Ian Dury and the Blockheads...Finsbury Park Elton John....Sneaked into the posh seats at Wembley Arena! Some properly good gigs in there!!! (IMO!!)

Ahhhh...there you go then! You are a little older than me, so evenings with T&J were quite nice! Gentle comedy that didn't harm anyone! But, hindsight IS a wonderful thing, and that prog wouldn't last 5 mins in these times.....Which is a shame really, when you think about it....How much this country has changed in the last 30 years, that we'd have people slagging off this gentle, tea-time comedy!
-
I'd take issue with it being called "terrible"..... I think it was a staple of the mid-late 70's, early 80's. As mentioned by Tech Guy, Terry Scott was a quite wonderful comic actor, who (let's not forget), gave voice to Penfold! Although it was pretty harmless stuff, by todays standards, I don't think it was bad enough (at the time) to be called terrible.......and hindsight IS such a wonderful thing!

To an extent, I think that people tend to believe what they see in films? "Look....There he is...Just getting on THAT bus....Zoom in and enhance.....XX56LON....That's the licence plate...Call the Police and get them to stop it.....Yep....Just there....That's him....Get him to turn around...." Etc etc etc. What are the REAL chances of that happening? Slim to zero, I'd suggest. By the time they have been able to get through the mountains of CCTV info coming in, you'd be well gone! BUT.....If you want to conduct an experiment, I'm quite keen on bumping off some students....then I could go on the run.....and see how long the Feds take to catch me!!!!!

Can you tell that I have a proper full-on beard? LOL!!! So.....I'd have to shave it OFF! That's why I stay on the right side of the law....Don't wanna have to get rid of it!!!
-
Actually, I think one of the easiest ways to drop off the radar would be to live as a homeless person in any of our major cities.... *serious point being made there* Get yourself a McD's cup, straggly hair, a beard (again!) and some scruffy clothes, and you're made! You can mooch round city centre's with no fear of anyone seeing you. Which is a crying shame in this century
-
No...but my Dad did! He was lost at sea But then we found him again, so it was alright (Please take that with a pinch of salt.......we never DID find him!!!)
-
Firstly....withdraw ALL your cash from your account...This MAY pop up, CSI-Stylee, on their computers, but do it somewhere away from where you need to prepare. Pack your clothes, or what you want to take with you......... Go straight to a major conurbation (London, Manchester, Brum, etc etc to get lost in the crowd....even with ALL the CCTV, they cannot pick you out immediately!) Find a seedy pub, and get a fake passport....make your way to nearest airport. Fly to Amsterdam, then to anywhere in the world..... Grow a beard! (May or may not work, if you're a woman....One of my ex's could knock out a corker!!!) Change hairstyle....lay low! There....All done! Come back sometime later, as a different person, and apply for your old job!

Thing is...All Apple customers think that their gear is "fantastic" and that there are NO faults. When faults crop up, they are quick to say that that is why Apple are sooo good....they come out with updates to fix these things. The reality is.....Once a company like Apple get that "Good" rep, it will take a lot for it to be shaken, thus they can be a bit lax on build quality, design faults etc etc. (Just to confirm....My android phone woke me up BANG on time, this morning!!!!)

I'm liking the convo's....just don't upset the player!!!! I don't get much chance to actually play it, now, what with a 6 year old son, and a missus who "doesn't want to be a Football Manager widow" !!! But it DOES look good....get the crowd and the stadium on....and the game looks nice! Just getting through pre-season with QPR, and we've been stuffed 3-0 by Olympique Marseille!!! Hope that once the season starts, proper, we'll be able to go 14 unbeaten....just like real life!!! (However, I'm no Neil Warnock....so that's a slim chance!!!)

Orange San Francisco or LG Optimus GT540?
aerospacemango replied to Gibbo's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Battery life is the bane of my life, with the GT540 too! However, I charge overnight, and that seems to give me enough for the day. GPS through the navigation app is cracking! No need for a Tom Tom anymore.....and I can't believe that Nokia were punting their phones on the fact that they had GPS nav.....it's a shoe-in on any smartphone these days!! -
Orange San Francisco or LG Optimus GT540?
aerospacemango replied to Gibbo's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
I don't believe it leaves anything behind, but with Astro installed, you can take any loose folders out anyway! I install loads of apps.....play/look at them, uninstall, and start again! Seems to be fine!! -

aerospacemango replied to Gibbo's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets

Winamp for music....Kindle for books....Astro File Manager will help you....UKTraffic for traffic reports.....BBC News (does what it says!!)...Likewise BBc Sport.....Tesco Clubcard.....Wapedia..... Just some of the myriad apps on my phone! Have a scroll through the market and see what you fancy! You will find other threads on here for Android apps! Good luck! -
At almost the same time as the Premier League was formed, the European Cup became less of a Champions Cup than ever before. The incredibly stupid idea to let League runners-up, and then subsequently 3rd and 4th place teams into the most prestigious club competition has to go down as folly. UEFA are just as culpable in all this as the FA and PL. The threat of a Europe League, for the big clubs, was enough to have them passing out Champions League places, like smarties. Therefore, it becomes MORE important to be in the Top 4, than to actually WIN the thing! All that's really important about the league position is whether you have to travel to Latvia or Kazakstan to play your qualifier. I am a QPR fan, as I posted yesterday, and we are arguably on the verge of promotion BACK to the Premier League, for the first time in 15 years. Trust me, there are very, very mixed feelings about this! On one hand, we have super-rich owners, who could take on all those "BIG" clubs, but on the other....nothing quite matches the Play Off final in 2003, even though we lost to Cardiff (and I cried!!!!). Nothing matches the fight for survival. The days of wandering around Loftus Road, with buckets, to collect money from fans that MAY keep the club alive are long gone (for now!), but those days had the most passion!

"Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people." - Karl Marx However, whatever the religion, whatever the belief, there is no excuse for the persecution of ANY non-believer. I would not persecute any of you for not believing in MY religion. (Jedi, in case you're wondering! I WAS one of those in the last census!!!!)

Oh, and as for the influx of Americanisms.....Don't get me started!!!! LOL!!!!

:clap2: Agree with almost everything you've written! The self-styled "Best League in the World" HAS to come crashing down around their ears sooner or later! And the sooner the better! One only has to look at the recent history of the league, compared to the previous 18 seasons. Since the Premier League was born, the following teams have won it..... Man Utd x 11 Arsenal x 3 Chelsea x 3 Blackburn x 1 There is nothing to suggest that this will not change at the end of this season either....Man City? Perhaps a season too early. In the previous 18 seasons.... Leeds United x 1 Arsenal x 2 Liverpool x 10 Everton, x 2 Aston Villa x 1 Nottingham Forest x 1 Derby County x 1 Almost double the number of winners. In those 7 clubs are 3 that could be called "unfashionable", when they won it. Whereas there is only Blackburn who have bucked the trend in the Premiership era. In the history of the football league, there are instances of teams getting promoted, and going on to win the League Championship in the next season.....Ipswich 1962-ish springs to mind. This WILL NOT happen again whilst the Premier League is the money-orientated league that it is. There is NO level playing field for a team that gets promoted. Only the fear of relegation and/or implosion through massive wages. The sport that I love is dying, at the top, and no-one seems to give a damn, whilst the big teams continue to have their noses in an ever-decreasing trough. *Ahem* Rant over!!!

Oh and I think you'll find that it IS Football, in every country except USA. Germany = Fussbal Holland = Voetbal etc, etc Soccer comes from the bastardisation of Association Football, and yet is only used by the Yanks. Your use of the "My Bad" shows a definite leaning towards too much American television, and an inability to separate cultural references.

Once again....see my post from earlier! WTF is the point of coming onto a thread, for a sport you don't like, just to try and be a smarta*se? So you like Gridiron? And? Why not open a thread for "Which American Football Team Do You Support?" and then you can have a valid conversation, instead of bringing your sh*t on this thread! If you don't LIKE football, then obviously this thread is NOT FOR YOU! (Oh, and it's the Green Bay Packers! Go, Cheeseheads!)
-
Queens Park Rangers! Nothing plastic about me!!! And I'm always amazed that non-football lovers come onto a thread about football, just to say they don't like it..... What's that all about? Why not just ignore the thread? It'll go away soon, and be replaced with a discussion on something that you CAN get involved with!!! *EDIT* http://www.edugeek.net/forums/general-chat/57605-stupid-football-2.html I think that is the thread for Football-haters!!
