That would very much depend on where my next job is!!! If I can get into a school or college over that way, then I'll be around just as much....if not...then I'll be popping in during the evenings!

So, there it is! This morning, I handed in my resignation to the college. After 3 years, I have decided that I'm moving from Suffolk to Northants. I don't have a job to go to, but I will be moving in with my partner. After the year that I've had, losing my Dad and my brother-in-law AND the break down of the relationship with my son's mother, I am making a new life for myself. Obviously, my plans are to stay in IT, wherever that may take me, but for now....I have 24 1/2 working days left, and I plan to enjoy every one of them!

I started with a CompTIA A+....It got my foot in the door. Take short term contracts, cos they can go permanent! You don't say where you are in UK? Cos I do know of a place that may be coming up real soon......

Well said, that man! If only everyone had that attitude, instead of the laissez-faire attitude that "It doesn't affect my phone, and probably never will, so i don't need anything!" This same problem affects people with Macs too! (By Macs, I don't mean long coats! Just thought I'd make that clear!)

Just seen this thread, so I'd like to throw in another vote for mylookout. Had it on both my phones since the day I got them. Have never had any problems, but it's always worth remembering the old maxim.... Better to be safe than sorry!

I have to say that at my place, I regularly search both the staff and student servers for MP3s. Any that are found on the student server are automatically deleted. Any on the staff side, we generally drop a line to the member of staff explaining why they cannot have their music collection on College servers, and give them a time limit to remove. This is generally 1 week (the time between each search). I have also been known to rename music folders with something like "Should this be on a college server". People soon get the message. I would rather do this than worry about the legal complications.

Just a quick update............ I was sat down last night, when the phone rang. When I picked it up, I get a ringing tone, followed by an awful line, and a voice saying "Hello? I am from (couldn't hear company name as it was garbled) and we have found that your PC is having problems" Conscious of how the line dropped last time, I was straight into it! I asked what the problems were and was told that my PC was spitting out spam to the net, and that if I turned it on, the caller would help me to clear out these problems. I asked why he couldn't tell that my PC was on already! He skipped over this and told me that I should go to my PC and open the browser. At this point, I declined, and asked for more information on the problems. I explained that I work in IT, so know a little bit about things, and would he like to explain what he was going to do, in fine detail? He said that he was not part of a scam (he brought this up before I did!) and that he was calling from an MS certified company, and that he was trying to help me. I pointed out that only recently, a friend of mine had had her Mum (In her 70's) scammed for £200 by this exact same method. He told me again that it wasn't a scam. I told him where he could put his telephone, and put the phone down! I sat back down, but straight away the phone rang again! "You have serious problems with your PC" he said! I replied that the only problem I had was with some git phoning me from an Indian call centre, trying to scam me for money! I put the phone down again! It rang again, and on a remarkably clear line, I heard "You cannot say anything bad about India, otherwise" I put the phone down at this point, and it didn't ring again! At one stage during this, he started to ask if he had the right person, and began saying names and addresses. I told him that he was just plucking these from notes in front of him, and he had no idea who I was, or where I lived. I would like him to phone again.....and maybe next time I'll get the name of the company.....Ofcom would be interested, probably, as would MS.....or would they?!!!

I'm going to bet that I don't see any rebate.....

You see? That's called KARMA! I drove home and knocked every biker, I could find, off their bike! Even the learners!! That'll learn'em!!

The only thing that REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS about bikers is............. I'll be driving along, generally on country lanes, and a biker will come up behind me. As soon as I can, I like to move over to the left hand side of my lane so that he/she can get past. In a vast majority of cases, you get a little wave of the hand to show appreciation.....The ones that just speed off? They're the problem!!! *Sits back with a grin as he's started another in-topic row.....probably!!!*

Ok.....so shall we see, this time, if we can take longer than another 13 pages to go full circle??? Who's up for that? Rules are : You can't repeat yourself, but must try to get back to original post!!!

I'm pretty sure that that accusation could be levelled at any number of drivers on the road, not just bikers! What about that BMW that is always up your a*** in the outside lane of the motorway? Or the Beemer that HAS to pull out of that turning, as you approach it? Or the Beemer.....Hold on.....wait a minute! It's bikers and BMW drivers that are the curse!!!! Now we've sorted that out, can we have a ritualistic burning of them ALL????

Have you actually looked at a biker before? Have you not noticed how much higher they sit, than you in your car? Therefore, they actually have the best view of the road ahead. As mentioned before, I am NOT a biker...never have been, and never will....My best mate was killed at 16 on one....but that doesn't mean that I cannot appreciate riding skills. And I can't believe how this thread has been resurrected, like an un-dead discussion, now wandering through the internet looking for other discussions to cannibalise!

I'm currently drinking my tipple, wine, with my other half, in a lodge I'm the Cotswolds! Soon to enter the hot tub, for an hour or two!! Have a good saturday night, folks!!

Well said, that man!!! Similarly, on the phone, I will use ZULU, but I put that down to the indoctrination of RAF training!!!
