  1. Happy retirement!!
  2. @Jakeno13 have you seen this ? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/decommission-on-premises-exchange
  3. Just wondering if many schools have taken up on moving their dns to Cisco umbrella open dns service, and if so what sort of costings have you had
  4. How does the licensing work out, is it per user or per device ? What versions have you gone for x advance or x advance with xdr ?? Roughly how much will it cost you ?
  5. Yea we tried to use LME with the use of slack ? I think it was.. the ncsc had a guide which was ok but just flaky and very overwhelming of information with no real way structure of the data, not very easily anyway, I’d be quite interested of other peoples views and setups on this topic Thanks
  6. Wow I feel old 17th year for me, and everyday is school day and learning something new ! EduGeek is a good place, and keeps my sanity in check!
  7. Whilst yea it can be done, I think your main issue is going to be around governances and the data that’s going to be in office 365. You could use a sharepoint site and move the data that way, or you can use file azure sync which looks quite good not really used it myself but long term plan I would most probably be speaking to the DPO and get some advice before you start moving stuff
  8. Could you share with the group on your recovery and what you did ?
  9. So sad such a character
  10. Sounds like some trusted security settings within office ?? You got a screen shot ?
  11. We use Epraise, mainly as a reward system, we have it integrated with our firefly and sims.net Seems to work quite well, was their anything in particular you wanted to know ?

  13. Yea I think it it was me I would most probably connect to core router and see what is happening, and then work backwards, (I think someone else said the same thing) Also don’t forget you have the command pathping which will help https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/pathping But also when did this start ? Did this happen with the old router ? Have you made any config changes to any of the switches recently. Sometimes cabling can be an issue however if you have decent cat5e and not any self made (not saying self made are not good) but if you have t crimped them correctly your going to get issues. It thin once you have identified where the issue is you can look at checking the rest of the stack.
  14. Your most probably better of exporting the whole lot and then just filtering it, sims isn’t the most clever of applications
  15. I don’t know if it’s something to consider or it would even work But what about an xcopy of a directory that has nothing in it Example of command below robocopy /MIR c:\emptyfolder D:\ (drive your trying to remove data from) ?? Like I say don’t know if it would work again try at your own risk
  16. Any updates on this be interesting to know the cause?
  17. Have you tried doing a DISM clean up / health check Also you could use processes explore from sys internals and see what is using that file , I’m guessing it’s most probably the system but might give you more info Just a thought…
  18. What’s the reason to move away from firefly?
  19. i don't know if it is related, or not but we have had few PCs where they have blue screened and are just in a loop, we are having to do a reset on them, also have noticed a machine where by the icons on the start menu have disappeared and just left with some app value, really odd have enabled the audit mode in our sccm portal, I'm just hoping i don't come in tomorrow and its even worse
  20. have you tried the following remove all windows updates, reboot as well test , if issue persist uninstall the drivers for both nic find the most up to date drivers for wireless card test if works install the lan driver - test you could try resetting the tcp/ip stack as well netsh winsock reset i think the command is
  21. Try changing this reg key below HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WinRM\Client Find the DWORD named Allow Basic and if it’s set to 0 change it 1 Obviously take a backup of your reg before you make the change Maybe a reboot wouldn’t go amiss and try again
  22. I’m not 100% sure but I think you would have to do this from the office 365 admin portal to specifically turn it back on - obviously they turned it off as it’s deemed a security risk - and then I’m guessing you would have to wait for it to work. How long I’m not sure

    Sats

hello people how can i view SATs in sims ? we have a new pupil and the teacher wants to view the pupils SATs
  24. sims i believe but our dm is off at the moment and its been left to me and so i'm like a rabbit in headlights if you get my meaning, I know our DM uses nova t6 but i think this part that I need can be done within sims. basically, a pupil has a custom timetable that has been chopped and changed a few times and now they want to change it again, i don't think it will work or I'm just not clever enough to figure it out, this isn't really my forte.
