  1. I would be interested to see how things looked with All APs going offline Only reason why is because you said that the APs come on line and then go offline and that hardwired seemed to be ok If that is the case then as you said it could it be a config issue with APs and how they are being controlled Just a thought
  2. Just don’t replace then, and then when slt ask why has nothing been done, you just tell them what’s the point is spending good money if people don’t give a sh*t, when you can spend the money on o the other things that will actually have an impact and be better for the school. And take a stance, I’ve had many arguments with staff about this and trust me, they need you more than you need them. Take a stance otherwise it just gets worst we also take photos and send it to all staff showing them the damage as well.
  3. Use something like salamander this takes care of everything
  4. Currently sophos utm 9 looking at the xgs I think personally think sophos do a really good job at filtering and ticks all the filtering test from the kcsie document, report side I think maybe could be better.
  5. It’s a lot lol but it’s really good had a demo from them
  6. We have a teacher who has some old resources that he would like like to make use of, now these are from what I understand in era of when board works was around etc. As you know adobe no longer provide security updates or even support said product anymore. So im asking the collective hive to see if we know of an alternative mechanism that is safe to use to allow the use of accessing these swf files. Their is a product called ruffle https://ruffle.rs which provide an application and or ms edge extension to allow swf to be ran, however the site isn’t really convincing me that it’s OK and it’s just some knocked up open source thing. Any help would be appreciated Thanks
  7. Ok…what about getting the 2019 server iso mounting it and booting from that into a cmd prompt and trying the repair ?
  8. Have you tried booting into safe mode with cod prompt you could try the sfc repair again via that method maybe ??
  9. Sorry if I sound dense When you say can’t get to the login screen, do you mean getting past the crtl-alt-del or before that ? Just trying to figure out when you say it keeps trying to log you in / try and use your authentication https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/security/windows-authentication/windows-logon-scenarios
  10. Have you got any sort of sccm system place Which could be deploying some weird setting ?? Also don’t know if is been said but remove it to a different ou? Can you login locally I.e not on the domain I know it’s drastic but you if you can drop it from The domain should clear any group policies that could be effecting it if anything
  11. Before doing anything drastic I would just test can you not create a group, Is it breaking anything at the moment ?
  12. You could ask your ISP for the traffic utilisation over say the last 30 days which should give you a better indication of what is going on, before you give them 2 barrels If it looks like it is not not hitting the top end then I.e maxing out then you will want to be looking at your setup I’m thinking firewall / dns and seeing how that flows Just as a starting point And then looking at edge switching and core
  13. Have you changed any firewall settings ? Just thinking that even though it’s running via hyper v etc if your server is somehow outside of the rules of the domain and the server thinks it’s in a public or none domain environment it might be that the host is unable to connect hence the error then I’m wondering if this could be the reason Maybe you could try disconnecting virtual network and reconnecting and seeing if that works I’m presuming the vm starts up fine ?? And is running
  14. Are you able to connect to via the console connection ?
  15. Hell no The security in place is their for a reason end off if he wants to do that sort of thing, the only thing I would consider is a closed off network I.e not attached to the main network and let them run riot , if they mess it up not your prob let them fix it !
  16. Well done mate
  17. What year groups have you got this setup for out of interest and which method have you used for resetting the password / account recovery e.g answer questions / push authentication etc
  18. Yea I understand that and I agree adding 2FA to the servers is only a good thing, my unease is around lost of Loss of internet connectivity Trusting a company that helps unlock your severs Having to decide on what the best settings to use, as god forbid loosing access to a server is never good especially if a domain controller, (as per prev post about recommendations on settings) These are just 3 thing from top of my head But again it’s a good idea and it’s something we all should do and start to think about doing, I’ve currently created an account to start having a play myself But if you do decide not to put the software directly on the servers it should definitely be on IT support admin pcs which have access to servers. I agree it is strange Thoughts?
  19. Yea I agree their support is normally good, it is disappointing that they letting things slip, as you say they seem or seemed to be one of the better companies
  20. I think it’s potentially a game changer and it’s all for the better, I’d be interested in the decision that go behind this for people For example what are you gain buy installing this e For example On our servers the only people that can rdp to them is the support department, second to this only the IP address registered against the ports on the windows firewall will accept the rdp connection, our IP address are reserved, Also what happens if your schools lose connection, do you then compromise on security to by pass 2fa ? So you can login It’s a tricky one as I know all setups will be different, and different requirements etc But it’s good that we are thinking about the next level of security for our servers, I’ve registered with duo this evening and will definitely be having a play tomorrow, will I put it on my servers I don’t know is my honest answer What are other peoples thoughts pros vs cons etc
  21. Interesting because I tried to do a sync earlier in the day and it wasn’t able to connect their server, is this still down ? Is their status page not worth going off and I should just ring them In the morning?
  22. Strange I’ve been testing this I don’t know if I’m doing anything wrong but I did notice that some of my clients have gone from managed to unmanaged - the install works fine , however where before when the pupils logged they seem to be getting a prompt where as before it would just sign them in, once they do sign in everything is fine - not sure - I’m deploying office 365, app and did the xml etc not sure if anyone else has come across this
  23. Any updates on this?
  24. Does your sims users have anything inside their email field ?
  25. I can’t imagine it would of been these apps as they don’t touch AD attributes and they just pull info from sims What have Microsoft said ? Is this effecting all users ? Or just a few?
