  1. Hey guys new site looks great, thank you for everything you guys do and have done to build the #1 community for technical support. Make sure you give yourselves a pat on the back
  2. I do - just for the pure fact that if my hyper v server died or the servers that just the disk die at least I still have a physical in fact I have 3 domain controllers plus 2 virtual, which one of the DC has all the roles on some would say over kill but I like to have options lol again some would say that’s wrong but I’ve never had an issue. I think in some respects it’s adds more complexity.
  3. Can’t wait! looking forward to the new site
  4. Have you tried testing with another psi of the same model / gen of server the psu should be hot swappable so you will be ok, obviously one take 1 at a time to test Last year when I was at bett our hyper v host bottomed out completely went dead, never happened in the past 18 years ive been at my school, swapped psu from different servers no effect, did a completely static discharge, again no effect, lucky we have a hardware contract in place and came next day to replace the main board. Even in his 30+ years he had never seen it. But make sure you have good redundancy and backups because when S meets fan you need to be ready. Lucky I have an excellent tech and he knew what to do esp when I’m in London and he’s in the office !
  5. Does anyone use app check for there penetration testing / external website vulnerability And use their internet network scanning feature to see vulnerabilities If so what are your thoughts
  6. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-server/active-directory/transfer-or-seize-operation-master-roles-in-ad-ds
  7. just contacted our virgin support as we are getting the same and the issue started in Manchester - very big issue for the VM Network from what the agent said
  8. You tried incognito just out of curiosity
  9. Is this any better to impero or senso ?
  10. I would keep pushing the support, like us you paid for a product that is supposedly better than what you had before. We use to be sims locally hosted, and at least when there was something wrong I could try and sort it, now it’s out of my hands and have to rely upon them trying to fix it. But I would just keep pushing it with their support remember it’s a legal requirement for schools to register pupils and a safeguarding issue so they need to be sorting it Hope they get to the bottom of it for you quickly other wise staff will have to do paper registers, if your not doing that already
  11. i might be over thinking this but correct me if im wrong so the new exchange 2019 server is installed and is now showing in my server list (great) but because we have already moved our mailboxes to office 365, and all mailboxes are showing type as office 365, could i just not move the db over to the new server and run the HCW and not have move certs etc over, we use salamander to create our accounts and use entra id to sync... or should i ? its just a shame i have to go through this process, our external DNS and internal DNS for outlook and autodiscover etc point to MS after we moved the mailboxes a few years back, i just dont see the point in having an on prem exchange....
  12. You could create a static entry in dns ? For print server
  13. Have you got any sort of vlan in place just with you saying a different address pool ?
  14. You could try deleting the dns record out of dns server and running ipconfig /registerdns
  15. Interesting I’m looking into setting this up Would you be willing to go more into detail on your setup or provide guidance
  16. @chaplic Thanks mate, much appreciated. I was a nervous wreck when I was moving our entire domain over to exchange online lol 😂 kept waiting for the batches to fail but worked really well.
  17. Is most people using the M365 A3 for Education?
  18. so this has been on the list todo for awhile now and due to one thing and another it fell off the radar but it needs doing we currently have exchange 2013, all of our mailboxes have all been moved expect for 3 to Office 365 and for the pat few years i've just kind forgotten about, we use salamander to create our user accounts and also assign the office 365 license to our users. the server exchange is running on is 2012r2 - i am aware they are no longer supported by MS I'm just looking for the best way to wade through, don't want to install full blown exchange but just need something to manage the mailbox, which i know will involve some exchange software install
  19. If you setup a 2025 DC and no upgrades from previous do you get the same issue?
  20. Do we know if there is any communication / technet article from MS around this issue ?
  21. Ain’t that the truth scandalous it is
