From what I've been told I just need to pass them the wbls (what ever the dbs is called) over to them then they will attach it there end but I'm not giving it them if we are not going to be use https because that's not good esp as.it has names and addresses of pupils etc and staff to they told us its going to be html5

  8. thanks @FN-GM if memory serves me right the only thing that the upn suffix does is if you want to change the way you use your logon credentials i.e you can logon with your user name or if like you say you have multiple domains you can use the @ symbol please correct me if im wrong long time since my ms classroom days lol
  9. https://technet.microsoft.com/library/cc738208(v=ws.10).aspx just read this link and what is the point of letting you do a domain rename if you cant use it with your exchange server
  10. was wondering if anyone has gone down this route or did you create a new domain for the school with the proper FQDN https://support.office.com/en-us/article/How-to-prepare-a-non-routable-domain-such-as-local-domain-for-directory-synchronization-e7968303-c234-46c4-b8b0-b5c93c6d57a7?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US
  11. Or use veeam glad your back up and running
  12. Not being rude but it is a gen 2 vm your adding the gene disk to yea?
  13. We use sharepoint 2010 and then 2007 back in the day, migration was a nightmare had to copy everything independently as no migration tool well none that was free been looking at 365 but again it's just a flat platform really as it's already been said just a glorious file server have moodle but found it not easy to play with
  14. Humm I see your problem only thing really you need to ask your self is how much stuff are you going to be putting into sccm e.g are you going to be putting your os / apps (how many ) / drivers / etc as I know now for the similar experience your having is that our content lib is starting to get big!! Especially when you start adding os images etc but lucky for us our sccm is a hyper v vm so we can just increase the space but in your case is a tricky one...they are both in a raid 5 configuration so your ok in terms of not really having to worry about a disk failure because you know you can still function but your performance will be hit........ in think if it was me I would it them on the 2TB just because of space....I don't think your really going to see that much difference yea ok it's a sas drive but it's not like a file server or an exchange server...yes you want the data to be accessed quick but i just don't see the point in not using the 2TB.....but your call
  15. i've had something similar to this i couldn't sort it but i think it has something to do with the permissions of the server i.e the host vm does have access to start the vm that being said your disks should be ok and you should be able to create a new vm and just attach the disk
  16. we have around 30 servers across 5 host(ish) and we have done in place upgrades we also did inplace upgrades of our vms expect for our pupils and staff server where i have had to rebuild them from scratch. i think along as you have a solid backup via either dpm or veeam then you should be ok. i know a lot of people don't like hyper-v but its quite solid really
  17. We seek to appoint a flexible, highly motivated and suitably qualified person who can demonstrate a high level of ICT competency. Applicants need to be able to work on their own, as a team member and to use their initiative to develop ICT throughout the school. Experience is essential in supporting desktop and laptop computers running Windows 7 as well as experience of using Windows 2008/2012/2012 r2 and applications such as SIMS.net, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy and knowledge of System Centre products would be advantageous, as well as experience of using Mac OSx Operating systems / Networks. Further information about the school is available on the school’s website at: West Park School Application forms (Associate Staff) should be downloaded and returned together with a CV and supporting letter via email to [email protected] Full child protection procedures are follow and an enhance DBS check will be required in the appointment of staff at our school.
