Hello, Are other schools using Micro Librarian's Eclipse.net hosted? Since they have moved from Silverlight to HTML5, our connection to them is going over HTTP rather than HTTPS. I have reported this to them and after not hearing anything for ten days, they have now confirmed it is an issue and say "It has already been scheduled to change them to HTTPS ready for HTML 5 is fully released in October" which suggests that the HTML5 version is not ready yet. We certainly haven't signed up to any beta programme or given them permission to use our school data for a test system running over HTTP. I just wondered if other schools are seeing the same thing and what you have done about it. This is a worrying attitude from a company who are handling our student data. Thanks, David

Can anyone recommend a good external site monitoring service? In an ideal world it would monitor e-mail (SMTP) and HTTP/HTTPS availability at regular intervals and offer an SMS and e-mail alert should either of these go down.

When trying to download content from a particular site, it is really slow. This problem only shows up for any sites that fall within a range of IP addresses that the web server is hosted on. Going through a proxy server from different countries, there appears to be no problem. I've done a traceroute and everything appears fine. The problem clearly has to do with HTTP, has nothing to do with the host server and probably isn't a problem with any of the routers along the way, although it can't be entirely ruled out. That leaves me with the impression that my LAN or local router is having problem with the HTTP content. I have no firewall active. If I attempt to download a 550 kb text file from the remote server, it takes nearly a minute to complete and you can see it downloading in chunks. The problem shows up in all browsers. If the problem has something to do with my LAN or computer, I'm stumped as to figure out how to locate the problem. The problem is only within a certain range of IP addresses and you cannot see a problem with Ping or traceroute, meaning that it is not a TCP/IP problem but a HTTP problem. Where can I look to figure out what is causing the latency?

Hi all. I have a bit of an issue with DNS, over the summer it decided to delete all its records (it might have had something to do with me, I couldn;t possible say either way!!!). Since then, it looks like all the Servers have a DNS record back in the DNS Sevrers however, when we try to go to a intranet site, like http://sv-app01, we get a DNS error where the address cannot be resolved? Any ideas on what I need to put into DNS? I have a static entry to the IP Address in the forward lookup zone and a entry in the reverse lookup zone..... but really at a loss now?

Hi Is there a good Free Proxy server out there to Authenticate Wired and Wireless Users via Active Directory for HTTP & HTTPS? I can authenticate them via PaloAlto firewall but the problem is with Wifi users, its hard to send them PA Certificate so that they can authenticate and use wireless services. Thanks
