Hi all, I just want to check on what people do. I have inherited a system where all students folders have the Users (\\Server\Users) permission in place, I normally get rid of this as I know it will give other users access to folders is this standard practice? Or should I go about it another way? Cheers

Hi all, At the moment for all staff laptops chrome is downloading all files instead of opening them (e.g. PDFs etc.) Everything is getting downloaded, which means their user drives will fill quite rapidly. Is there a way to change this via the Chrome GPO? Cheers

Hi mate, I was just looking at that and tried it, but you need an existing BIOS update, even when just backing up otherwise it throws an error. I just am a bit paranoid as the only one I have is the RM one.

Hi all, I have loads of Stone laptops with Clevo W760C motherboard in. I wanted to update the BIOS of the machine and found a update in RM knowledge base, which said it fixed the issue of the wireless card disabling, which is a common issue. What I didn't know was that it would remove the ability to boot to LAN, making imaging the laptop painful to say the least. So I was wondering if it is possible to backup the BIOS from another W760C laptop and then use that to flash the other laptop? I have contacted Stone and they no longer have any drivers or BIOS updates for this laptop. I have also looked around the net but can't really find much. Clevo doesn't seem to have any BIOS updates on their site???????? Any advice or help would be appreciated. Cherers

I have found that if I select Sync all, it syncs fine. But the error occurs when the background sync or if I select the sync partnership and click sync it happens. Any help would be appreciated.

I know an old thread, but I am doing a big update on our Stone laptops to try to keep them going with SSDs etc. I updated the BIOS with this on one machine, then realised that the new BIOS version seems to remove the ability to boot to LAN. Hi, Sorry if my post is a bit all over the place, its Friday, I'm tired and I hate hot weather. We are having issues with our Offline files that when they sync, some staff see errors that the sync failed for another staff members user area - Access denied. The error is So Michael Knight will run a sync and it will fail saying: Sync failed for \\\staffwork$\JoeBloggs - Reason - Access Denied. But I don't know why its doing that. Help please. Hi all, I am setting up SnipeIT at my school again, but I am struggling to get the email setting sorted. I am trying to use Office365, but getting this error. Error: An Error has occured! Connection could not be established with host smtp.office365.com [unable to find the socket transport "starttls" - did you forget to enable it when you configured PHP? #1361197232] How do I enable starttls in PHP? It is very much evil. Will be ditching Plusnet as well when my contract expires I have had price increase, after price increase since I started and it has gone silly now.

Hi all, I have a student that wants to link their Visual Studio C# Windows Forms .net desktop application linking to an Access database. but they keep getting a error saying "Microsoft.ace.oledb.12.0 provider is not registered on the local machine". We have 64bit Office 2016 install. I have tried the access database engine 64 bit for Access 2016, but still getting the same error. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi all, I have been given QuickCam Pro to install on a set of PCs. In the old Denford software there was a INI file to set locations in for license file, etc. But I cannot find anything with regards to the INI file or and documentation full stop. Any ideas? Cheers

Recently read the Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. Really good book, very clever story, well told. Also listened to Boy's Life by Robert McCammon from Audible, OMG that is officially my one of my favorites, amazing story, I was sad to finish it. Moved on to Swan Song by Robert McCammon, wow!!! Hi all, Looking for a small compressor strong enough to blast dust from computers. Usually use cans of compressed air, but they don't last that long and can be expensive when keep buying them. Also very frustrating when run out and find that that was my last one. Any recommendations? Cheers
