Print Sever changing its static IP address in DNS
KoolTech replied to KoolTech's topic in Windows Server 2022
My next thought is to move the printers IP to see if that helps. Everything looks correct and the host names are the same as they have always been - - - Updated - - - I have done that most mornings and it works until the next day when I check and it has changed the IP again! -
Hi, I wonder if someone could help me or has seen this before. I have a virtual Hyper-V print server that has a static IP set and I check DNS and the IP address is registered in there no problem. The next day, the print server still has the same static IP address set but the DNS server now sees a different IP address, usually one of the printers IP addresses. If I manually change the IP address on the DNS record back to the same as the static IP address on the print server, it all works again but the next day it changes itself back to a different IP! These IP addresses are separate to the DHCP pool I tried letting DHCP set the print server IP address and again checked DNS and all okay but the next day DNS has gone back to a different IP address. Usually back to one of two addresses that are both IP addresses used by the printers. I feel this has just started happening since we replaced our printers with new Ricoh printers but cant be certain. If anyone has any ideas or can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks.

Hi, We are having an issue with our County Council as emails sent to them from certain individuals are going into their spam list. They are blaming it on the IP addresses that the email was sent using being on a blacklist. Has anyone had this issue before? We use Gmail and they us Office365. My emails and most individuals emails go through but some are just going straight to their spam. I have been in touch with one of the ip (SORBS) that the council say is blacklisted and had it removed and ran a mail tester which got a score of 9/10 so I am a bit stuck Any help appreciated.

FreshDesk here. Free for 3 agents and just works!

Just to add my 2 cents worth, we used Cunninghams in all 4 of our Schools for years and they were horrendous! I would stay away as far as possible. Constant issues with little to no support. We now use SIMS Pay now I believe but I now have nothing to do with it, thankfully!

206 and counting for us....

Hi, I have been asked to create an app for our school. Has anyone else done this or can point me in the right direction of who to use or which websites to look at? It needs to be able to be accessed by teachers to upload to from what they have been doing during the school day. I think they want it as a kind of a Facebook app almost which links to our website also. Thanks for any help,

All of our schools use Version 11 as well and the licencing cost is way too expensive for us. Will need to source an alternative asap but teachers love SmartNotebook!

Sorry, I did try searching but couldn't find a thread

Hi, We currently use RealSmart across our schools for our websites and Google integration. I have been asked to reduce costs and I have been asked if RealSmart is worth it. I am not sure it is. It is expensive and only really seems to host the websites and link our MIS to Google. We don't use most of the other features at all. Our domains are hosted by GoDaddy. Has anyone used their Wordpress hosted websites? Would this be a viable alternative? We are looking at getting rid of RealSmart and using something else to create/host our websites that is significantly cheaper. Thanks,

Thanks @Reboot_IT and @rich_tech I have had a look at that and it looks good. Will try and get some more info

Hi, I have been asked to look into doing a management course and was suggested the NPQML by my line manager. I am an IT Manager in a Trust of 2 large primary schools in Northumberland with a team of 3 currently. Would this course be suitable or is it mainly aimed at people who do some teaching as well? Are there any courses similar people have done and could recommend? Cheers,

I have also suddenly had an invoice from AssetTiger. I thought it said free forever! Shame they have started trying to charge. I will be closing the account and looking for something else....

Sorry, I should have said that this happens even when entering the static IP of the printer. I have tried pushing it out from the Print Management and deploying via group policy that way but they are not getting deployed. Had no issues on Server 2012r2

Hi, We have just upgraded to a Windows 2016 domain this Summer but I now can not seem to deploy printers? I have a setup of a Hyper V with a DC and a file/print server hosted. I get the attached error Any help would be massively appreciated as I am pulling my hair out! Thanks,

Nothing! We did away with drives for Staff as they are all on Google Drive now with the share drives on Google Team Drives. Students get 1GB user areas and each student share drive is 250GB

Thanks guys. Turns out it doesn't like USB extenders! Had to move the desk closer using a single USB and it worked. Bit of a pain.....

Hi, Has anyone had any experience of the above? We have just purchased one of these but I cant seem to get the touch working. It works fine with the inbuilt whiteboard but not when I plug a laptop into the USB. Am I missing something!? Cheers,

About time! Mine came through the door last week and just went straight in the recycle bin. No need for them imo
-
Any extra time I do, I am allowed to claim back in the form of extra time off during the school holidays so I tend to do a bit extra most weeks which adds up to another week or 2 off in Summer

I changed my name by deed poll a couple of years ago. It was straight forward enough, just apply online and make sure you get a few different copies to send around the relevant companies you need to. They do return them but if you want to let as many people know as quickly as possible, I would get a few copies done. Other than that, It is just letting people know really. Start using your new surname straight away and keep informing the people who need to know.
