Hi Everyone, We currently have a very old version of Dance Ejay installed on our machines and have been asked about the possibility of purchasing the newest version. Has anyone else purchased this? Is it expensive? Does it install/work well? Just after any feedback please if possible! Cheers,

I was wondering about using QR codes and an app on smartphones or tablets, however not everyone has one of those so I'm not sure the cost of purchasing a small tablet for everyone would be worth it.

Hi everyone, I have been asked by a member of SLT to look into getting barcodes and barcode scanners for the school. The idea behind it is that each pupil has a barcode stuck on their planner and if a teacher wants to award points to the student then all they have to do is scan the barcode and it links to Frog and their leap points. Just wondering is anyone using something similar and can point me in the right direction regarding the hardware I would need to make this happen? Cheers,

Usually listen to the local radio station which has a good mix of music on or Deezer or iTunes. As long as there is something, couldn't have nothing on!

I would never have set it up wireless. It wasn't even set-up or being used! It was sat at the back of a classroom powered on and the member of staff said "Oh I haven't used it for ages, it doesn't work!"

Wow, what a week. Been on with the same problem all week. Basically a photocopier stopped working and was the only thing on the network that stopped working. Tried the lot, IP, Switches, ports, cables! Had the engineer out and when he plugged it directly into the laptop it worked fine. After lots of digging and 4 of us working on it(!) it finally turns out it was a small wireless printer sitting at the back of someone's room just silently broadcasting on the same range as the photocopier resulting in the photocopier being dragged down! Never seen this before and neither had any of the other printer engineers. If this ever happens to you, check wireless printers!! So pleased, its had my life this past week. Nice cold beer to celebrate tonight I think

Photocopier "engineer" has been and after acting all arrogant saying it was my network and me disproving him and getting an apology, hes off to get a new network card nice win for today!

Tried my laptop on the cable and it worked fine. I really think it is the network card now. Hope I can claim under warranty, need to dig the paperwork/contract out!

it is, however support costs extra to get them in and SLT kick up a bit of a fuss about it so was hoping it was fixable but I've been on all day with it and I'm starting to think I'm going to have to put a call in!

Cheers @psydii tried that mate, I have had continuous ping's running all day to watch it! IP info is correct, changed leads and points but still no change! If I set the IP to the one that I know is good and working it still doesn't work. I am now thinking its the network card on the machine itself

Hope he is okay mate. Have a dog myself and he's part of the family, would be devastated as well if anything happened. Plenty of treats and toys for when he gets better

Thanks for the reply @fiza I am happy staying with 2008 R2 for my other server currently but really want to upgrade my Windows Server 2003 Server to 2008. I just want to know how simple this is really!

Hi, I have 2 servers that are both DC's however 1 of them is on Windows Server 2008 and 1 is on Windows Server 2003. I want to upgrade the 2003 server so that it is also 2008. Is it as simple as putting the 2008 disc in and upgrading? Is there anything else I need to do/know? Cheers,

@sted thanks for that. Is the Sophos Update Manager account suitable for this? I had tried the account with domain\username as well hence the change to see if it would work! Does the update account only need read access to the sophosUpdate folder?

Hi, I have recently moved our Sophos Enterprise Console onto a new Server 2008 rt machine and it all seems to be working except for the update policy. I have the policy set to update from the recommended location and have our Administrator account for the username and password. Is this correct? This is a copy of the updating log as well. I have looked into Eset before as it seems reasonably priced or even cheaper than Sophos is. Might have look into Kaspersky as well
