Had one of out Smartboard controllers go down and been told that the SC12 controller is the latest replacement for the original SC9 controller. Has anyone changed one and does the new controller actually help with rubbish alignment issues when you come to write on the board no matter how much you orient it and change the settings? Going to test it on another board when the replacement comes to see if there is any improvement.

Thanks for that, didn't notice it when I just copied and pasted it! At least I know for next time, thanks for posting the correct info for me. -
Meraki Systems Manager - anyone got it working?
TechSupp replied to rpycroft's topic in Cloud Services
Well submitted all the ports and Amazon IP for us to the LA and they duly sorted it out for my schools, checked a tablet and it updated and checked in which it never did before. Need to do some more testing when I get chance. -
Give me a white stick! Mine was 32! I blame old age! Mine was the greeny blue area (they looked OK to me though)

Meraki Systems Manager - anyone got it working?

May help some but it wont work wiothout setting the amazon server ip, details on this KB https://webmail.education.doncaster.gov.uk/owa/redir.aspx?C=qpoQKowcDUuxZCi0cpHNneS7Vu-OidAItxlkpbmhSTtMo8A-PGG69ScbRQ9J_-qVjtVgTqFYDT0.&URL=https%3a%2f%2fkb.meraki.com%2fknowledge_base%2fdetermining-ip-address-ranges-needed-for-amazoncom-s3amazoncom Just forwarded this through to out LA to see if they will set it for me. Fingers crossed. -
Just checkedd and other server is updating just fine.
-
Thanks, will give that a go, as I said did work previously. Will check my other schools wsus is synchronising as that uses the same council proxy.
-
Was working fine before the summer, just stopped during the summer and found on the web that I needed to run the cleanup utility in WSUS which the allowed it to start synchronising again but 10% is as far as it gets.
-
Having a slight problem with WSUS, its synchronise is stuck on 10%, tried it last night and it got to 11%, stopped it today and restarted the download and its now at 10% and waiting. Anyone got any ideas?

I installed shrink'o'matic (uses adobe air) which is quite nice and simple to use.

Had posted a message on the Sophos forum and they pointed me to a kB article about that error message saying the source was the wrong version. Just checked and it has now updated. Didnt notice this as I upgraded this server (which kept the old settings for the update manager) whereas the other server I did as a new install so looked at the settings on the YHGfL web site! Doh! Face Slap! Many thanks again.
-
Argh! You could have got it there, yes we are on YHGfL and yes it currently points to v4! Will alter that and fingers crossed you nailed it!

Yes, I'm a slow learner as well. Can't say I was particulary much good with my 35mm but main point was I enjoyed fiddling with it. Thanks for all the replies.
-
Yes, I have taken some good photos and panoramas on mt HTC One X but as with most things, the things I want are usually just out of reach which is why I was always happy fiddling with my 35mm and good zoom lens

Signed up to here in the same year as well it seems!

Sorry, was my bad memory! Lens are actually 18-55 and 75-300, Buy CANON EOS 1100D Digital SLR Camera with 18-55 mm + 75-300 mm Zoom Lens | Free Delivery | Currys

Can do but it's never a nice experience getting rid of it as I found out on another server in the summer which is why I did the upgrade instead on this one. Any suggestions how to get rid of it or is there a 'fix me' button on the add/remove program's?
-
Nope, no go there. Disconnected the policy from client group, removed setting, saved it, added it back, update failed...it must still be angry!
-
Will give that a go again later but I did try that as one solution I thought might help before all to no avail. I like the 'It just being corrupt and angry', that just probably sums it all up. Knew the update went far to straight forward. At another school I spent ages uninstalling, getting rid of Sophos bits it leaves, databases it leaves connected etc and did a new install...that is just forking fine and goes through the same filtering systems so that's not the issue.
-
Its my ahem...50th coming up shortly and my wife wants to buy me something to celebrate it (she's fed up of buying bits for my cycle!) so after a bit of thought I came up with the idea of a DSLR camera as I traded my 35mm SLR in a few years ago to get our first digital compact camera. Seen the Canon EOS1100D with a 50-70 lens and an extra 70-300 lens. It seems to have had some good reviews for a relative starter like me but just wondering what others may think. Reason I was looking at that setup was that I quite liked having the 300mm Lens with my old camera (as well as a 28 and a 50-70, used it with a Practika BX20).

Have updated the console to 5.2 (went through and updated via each version upgrade and all went well I presumed as no errors) in the summer and now I see it has never updated since then! Used the error tool and the first error it logs (I presume all following ones are due to the first error) is: 15/09/2013 17:28:21 Error Synchronize operation failed when synchronizing product release 'Windows Endpoint Security and Control'. Details: Cannot create stream 29b76d41562ed04639b96191ba05ca1fx000.xml The logins to our update location are correct, I can get to the location path etc but just cant get it to update. It says downloading binaries, then reports software deliver fails then another message about threat detection failing. Have searched on here and cant see the wood for the trees honestly and I am ending up clutching at straws (can you tell the level of desperation?). Anyway and anyone point me in the 'simpletons' direction of getting it working again...or can I do a repair or even a reinstall? Just changed my subscription to 10.0 Recomended (I had the latest 10.2 selected to see if that made any difference at first) and I get the following as the first error of a series of messages in the error tool: 15/09/2013 17:42:41 Error Synchronize operation failed when synchronizing product release 'Sophos Patch Server'. Details: Cannot create stream 7f8acc562fd796ba43e8dc4441ba0394x000.xml

Right after talking with another techy seem to have maybe realised what the issue 'may' be, we 'upgraded' to the latest console this summer (it was not without issues!) and I now remember that the new version had to have two new users set up, one being for the update, so if these were set up and applied during tghe install to the update location the old clients may now not be able to access it, hence why they fail and a new install will work! Thats the possible reason why I have the issue but still have the problem what to do though as far as a reinstall of all clients just once and not everytime they log on. Update: In good old fashioned Sophos form, the clients have just started to update via the Protect in the console after I grouped them into a clients group I had created, so problem solved.....for the moment anyway...next!
-
All my clients this morning are now reporting that they are unable to access their update location which they have updated from just fine previously. If i do a reinstall on the client it installs and updates just fine from the same loaction and updates fine and I have not changed anything! Anyone had this issue before, tried a Protect from the console and it just seems to sit there not doing anything. Have installed via a batch file, so as a last resort anyone got a batch file that will install Sophos at logon and check it has done so, so that next logon it does not try and install itself again? PS I'm just fed up with Sopohs but stuck with it, aint Mondays fun!

Mines (05 astra diesel) in the grange at the moment, it decided to spring a water leak from a hose in the depths of the engine bay! AA man just tutted that it was a devil to change and followed me to the garage I use. Mechanic said same so it looks costly for a small leak. It's also started to rattle/knock so it was booked in to have that looked at anyway so now two jobs for them. Both said these Astras were noted for their leaks due to poor hoses...why! So far had two water leaks from split hoses and and oil leak twice from a perished hose. The last water leak I had no idea, no warning lights etc and it spewed half the water on the motorway so no water on drive, only by chance I noticed no heat from heating and decided to investigate, no water in reservoir, so added water, started engine....flood of water all over drive! How it did not destroy the engine running with so little water I'll never know. Have been looking at getting a vw T25 camper, so wil be used to mechanical issues by then! At least I can get the scanners out to the camper and not need a degree in electronics as with newer cars. Sometimes wish I had stayed with my old mini!
