www.wordle.net/create doesnt work for student account
ithelp replied to ithelp's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Sorry in the delay getting back to you Jon. Had to think hard. Think its maybe a filtering issue. we have a new filtering system in place now. Like i say it's been a while but I reckon in our case it was a random category block / over lapping category. (tick box in categories:-) What GUI do you use? We had a cache pilot and an ISA On to easy net upstreams proxys. We might have even changed the physical connections for the server but I'd have to check back in the notes to be sure. Hope you have managed to sort it in the mean time. -
Hi All, does anybody have a copy of the PJNET master software for Sanyo Projectors?. weve misplaced ours and need to reinstall. its not available of their website. thanks, ITHelp
-
found out the solution a few months back, it was to add the AD group ("all staff") as a local group within the local computer, this then showed up the trusted login button in sharescan
-
thanks!!, the config tool itself has all the options already, so i just choose the option i need and lock it down using the padlock next to each option, so for example putting the proxy server address in. i then deploy via a startup script with an "IF EXIST" at the beginning so it doesnt reinstall everytime. thanks, ITHelp

Hi all, we are having trouble with the way we have our network currently configured. for example... we have a group called "Reception Staff" which is used as a securty group on one of the their shares. we also use the same group within Exchange 2007 as a way for staff to email all of its members. however the problem is when changes are needed or staff decide other people should be in that group but not get access to the shares, or vice versa.. shouldnt be in the group but get access to the shares. all opinions and reccomendations welcome. thanks, :bored::confused:

Hi, is it possible to export a timetable in the form of individual dates? for example have what lessons a teacher will have for every possible day of the year instead of just a week 1 and week 2 timetable? thanks, ITHelp.

what we are attempting to do is: the student uses a shared desktop and start menu which are local on the c:, simply to cut down on network traffic. these are updated via mirroring the same shares on the server (done by robocopy mirroring). but if we update during the lesson we want a way to update it under a pupils account. thanks, IThelp

most ppl are shocked when we tell them how many servers we run. what do you's think? school likes to operate the latest software hence the reason why we have 2 versions of sharepoint. we would like to virtualise the lot but there's no money. 1000 pupils, 150 staff. 3 x dcs 1 x exchange 1 x blackberry 1 x WDS/RIS 1 x SQL 1 x Sharepoint 07 1 x Sharepoint 2010 1 x WMS, streaming media 2 x File Servers 1 x Backup 1 x ISA Server 1 x HYPER V Virtual Host (below are all virtuals) 1 x forefront AV 1 x Windows Update Server 1 x Printer (for over 50 printers) 1 x Terminal Server

Hi all, ive created a scheduled task which runs a bat file that connects to a network share and robocopies the differences to a folder on the c: i want the scheduled task to be able to run under a student account. iv set the RUN AS section of the task to NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM hoping this would work but it does not. the error the users get when running the task (via a shortcut using schtasks.exe) is ERROR: Access is denied. and in the scheduled task log it says "Result: The task completed with an exit code of (0)." any ideas on how i can accomplish this???? thanks, ITHelp

thanks for your help, thats been really useful, at least i now know its possible to do. ive set it up as single nic mode with an IP within our LAN range (172.16.1.***), and changed the default route to the IP of our ISA. however i cant ping it or access the gui outside of the vlan its set within. eg. the cache is on 172.16.1.*** but it cant be accessed on another vlan of 172.16.2.***. is there any settings i need to change on the cache?

AD Authentication for the Cachepilot
ithelp replied to Crowmanuk's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Hi we are also trying to set up AD authentication with our cahcepilot but are unsure of where to start. could you outline the key points needed to set this up? and does it still bring up a login box when they browse the net or does it get their credentials automatically? thanks, -
yeah that works but we dont want to be given out local admin in the offices, we ar etrying to keep our security pretty restricted so there arent many loopholes. thanks, IThelp

Hi, we are trying to sync our pdc with an internet time server, (time.windows.com). Weve got port 123 udp opened from our ISP and set up the PDC however it still doesnt seem to synchronise, we have an ISA 2004 in between the internal and internet so i think to problem lies with this. are there any tools you reccommend i can try to test the open port/test isa allows access to the open port/can see the time server etc.. ??? thanks, ITHelp

Hi, we currently use an isa 2004 server to bridge the gap between our domain (172.16.*.*) and the cachepilot (10.8.160.*). we are using the isa firewall client to configure our clients for Proxy. in the past before the isa we could use the following details in the proxy IE settings to browse the net. 10.8.160.4 port 3128. but since the isa we cannot access it or ping it? but we can browse the web management page. therefore is there a way of allowing normal everyday access to the cachepilot without having to go via the isa firewall client route? thanks, ITHelp
