Theres no way that should work at all. There must be something wrong with your setup or access rights to allow users to add users to the local admin. You need to use USBDLM to change your usb drives letters to the ones you set then use a software restriction policy on them. For your user areas you need to use R2s file filters. This will stop them running the scripts from USB drives and their home areas.

We are merging too finally a week on wednesday. For all sorts of reasons including E-registration etc. It is a pain to mange 2 physically seperate networks as you end up doing most things twice. Also I dont have to keep explaining to the staff that X is only available on admin or curric etc.

We have one in a food room with no issues.

I just block flash and whitelist sites that need it. This will stop most games sites and videos etc. It's less hassle than it sounds.

You can build a VGA to SCART lead. I built one for my arcade machine so it could display the games at native resolution on the TV bypassing the encoding etc. I basically chopped the end off a vga and dismantled a scart lead and followed a wiring diagram. Fiddly but not too hard.

Sounds like more of a job for VBA than a function.

I haven't seen a good reason to use it yet. It looks like I will be skipping Exchange 2007 which is the only thing I seem to see it mentioned with. I am currently concentrating on some other languages which I think will be better to be proficient in.

I have no experience of DCs in a VM but I would also say that if your backup strategy involved backing up the whole VM file(s) then I would shut the machine down rather than pause it as well. Personally If I lose a DC and have a healthy one still running I will not restore from backup but rather create a new DC and let normal replication occur. This avoids problems highlighed above to do with syncronisation etc.

How about something like Web folders (Webdav)

The flash file will probably be in your temp directory when you are viewing it. Open my computer and type %temp% as the address (including "%"). Sort all the files by date then go to the page with the video on. Wait until it is fully buffered then go back to the directory you opened and the latest file should be a flash video file. Give it a name and a .flv extension.

Thanks Tom. I have dabbled before and you helped me out when I was writing a nagios plugin to query Xerox printers a few years ago. The way things are going though, I think Perl is going to become an essential for me in these mixed environments we run these day .

Our 8400s were quite intelligent and learned a pattern of usage and woke up for when they were usually needed. The only thing about these printers is you cant turn them off without losing some wax. It keeps some ready all the time to print and if you turn them off, it dumps it to the waste tray.
