the batch file needs to be called, ideally at logon. Use something like ranger remote control or bozteck vnc scan to log onto stations and attached the batch file as the startup script for the user account.

last time i used it it was designed to work on standalone machines, theres very little in it taht cant be achieved with group policys and quite a lot of scope for stuff going wrong. We use it for standalone machines for communal use and for exams as it cleans the hdd back to its original state. We found it virtually impossible to deploy other than to just image and copy the harddrive.

it takes time, but assuming each course is around £110 (book + exam) i'd recommend doing the mcsa.

dhcp is fairly easy to build redundancy into DHCP Scope split & Reservation : Network Infrastructure Servers : Windows Server : Microsoft TechNet Forums for your dc's your best setting them both as dns servers, then add the dns servers into the scope so each machine has both servers set for dns.

you need dns to hold the record that shows the computers where the dc is. you'll need to set up dns on the second server and set it up in the dhcp options so each comptuer has 2 dns records, one for each dc.

looking at the files contained in the 2 quota entries it looks like some are from before we mirgated to our new domain. no idea how to fix other than delete all the older files though!

tis a very useful package, and as my tip of the week... you can also run the folders from a shared drive! .

ideally it wouldn't even be switched on, the idea is to mirror the harddrive overnight once a week then turn off the power to the hdd.

its the sysprep installing bit i cant see, so i'm not sure i could get into safe mode to even see that!. I think safe mode was being talked about when i couldn't see windows at all. my brains not working either today, just been running round panicing about an install next week taht i thought i'd booked for tomorrow when i'm in an exam!.

original monitor was old 15" jobby so tried it with new hp 19" jobby and it was the same, was the first thought i had too. the problem seems to be with the resolution during the sysprep setup, which suprises me as i would have thought it would have been small enough to fit on most monitors(unless it's too small? )

i know the image works ok as it was added to AD. Having worked on this a bit more i still cant get it to displaying during the loading (not too much of a prob the end user only has to name the machine). I think the remote desktop problem was the first run crashing combined with a really stuipdly slow log off. i've added the drivers to the image which means at least once its deployed it works.

I am deploying to different hardware but i'd have thought 800x600 would work on any hardware even without the specific drivers installed. cant get into windows to see!. for some reason rdp isn't working either.
