LOL How about Loop Back enabled . Multiple OU's for Rooms dependant on the location of the nearest printer then my script above to do it for e.g. Room 1 has 2 printers I create two OU's called Room1a and room1b all the pcs nearest to printer 1 gots in room1a all the pcs nearest to printer 2 goes in room1b different printer scripts setting the default printer in each OU See ive beaten you to it .

maybe StaffroomBW or StaffroomColour i like to label them like that to stop them sending stuff to the wrong one.. id suggest using loopback processing and assigning printers by Computer OU Its a lot easier I have never had printer or driver problems .. apart from the occasional fudge up when something gets stuck I also really think this is a sharename/IP problem so give the printer a new IP and create a new port for it .. and change the sharename.

are the new printer shares the same as the old brand of printer ( same port etc ) ? if so it might be getting a tad confused .. try a different ip for the printers and a different share name Enable Loopback so you can assign the printers by OU heres my script i use to add first remove old printers then add some new ones

I fail to understand the reference to the lotus elise . how is it relevant ? all you have said was it used a K series rover engine ?

Any way to remove the Update my product information ? Remember the school website represents the school Pay some one who can update , create and host a website . Otherwise get the school techy to do it

In Form i input either Staff or Pupils in AD ... for the correct member i have also removed the option to change password etc ..

1.) try mapping a shared drive that all users have access to .. like a student drive etc . 2.) check inside web.config there should be 2 or 3 entrys where your admin username and password should be . 3.) make sure all the HAP files have the correct IIS permisions.

Ok finally found the reason why none of my drives are working this may be a possible bug.. Unless my useraccount has a HOME DRIVE path in AD none of my mapped drives will work as soon as i enterd a homedrive into my user account it worked perfect and all UNC paths not related to the home drive works ! wahoo .. Thanks Nick

Still doing the above Nick .. even rebuilt onto a vmware machine running server 2008 . ALl works correctly except viewing the drives again any other suggestions

Having looked at this . In the silverlight version it shows me the correct Drive usage .. I.e. how much % it has used .. But it just wont list the files it just errors out ( i believe this is the same problem as page 12) I have tried a shared drive which is located on the IIS server and this also done the same error as above

Hi nick can you help me ? got a few questions ( brill program btw ! ) 1.) 8 or 9th line in web.config it says studentgroupname do i put there active directory group name ? as in Pupils ? or is this something else 2.) Im running a plain server 2003 system no RM , In establishment code do i just delete this and leave it blank ? 3.) i have got extranet running .. lets me login etc .. But gives me 404 error sahing the page does not exisit (localhost/extranet/mycomputer/N ) on clicking on my documents .. even though i have set the UNC path ? Is number 3 a web.config error or have i set up IIS incorrectly ?

for css use firefox , firebug addon and i like using Hex colour finder I think there is a addon for joomla so u can assign staff certain departments bits and pieces .. But for the sake of your site i would suggest you doing it your self . I have seen sites where teachers are allowed to edit pages and they end up looking pants

Hi Dave im just up the road from you in the girls convent school Ever thought about using Joomla ? its free and and very easy to setup. Css isnt that hard with the correct tools And also i cant see your sharepoint attempt as the url is not working

Hi Nick Would this software work for me allowing the kids to access there files from home . Problem with us is we dont use home drives but use my documents redirects . We are set out like this \\servername\documents\Year07\%username% \\servername\documents\Year08\%username% \\servername\documents\Year09\%username% Etc etc .. I have not installed your software yet just didnt want to waste half a day playing with it if it wasnt possible . BTW Looks very good

just a question , before i start going more indepth with the program Can you use it so when a student logs in they can access there Redirected My documents ? is this a plugin of some sort . We dont use Homedrives .
