Just checked My OU structure = SCHOOl > Computers > Room Under this Room i have 32 machines i have 2 policys under this room 1.) a Logon.vbs which maps all printers 2.) Another seperate policy called enabled loopback which is basically loopback enabled in Merge mode I can remove the Printer logon.vbs and it makes no difference , the Enabled loopback policy still stops everything ( user GPO related) from working inside that room

umm this is a very confusing problem , as soon as i remove loop back .. all the other policy's start working

Thanks , that's exactly how i do it Do you apply the loopback policy to each room OU , or to the Main OU .. for e.g. i have Computers OU > then rooms under it i.e. Room9 etc not sure if (KB943729) applys to me as im using server 2003?

it could be that i already have it enabled in a policy i overlooked

having not setup this server from scratch i dont really know whats stopping this , im going to dive a bit deeper. i have a printer script which can do it from pc name , but would rather do it my way which is via loopback

OK im having the following I want to enable The Machine loopback Policy Option using the Mode 'Merge' . Ive used this before at a different school to enable me to run Printer Scripts . basically the last time i used this i assigned each Room a OU and i could apply the different printer scripts per Computer Ou . The problem is when i have enabled this Policy on this server , Computers are not getting user policys such as the proxy server and the start menu items from the computers ' All users' folder is not loading ? Any one experience this before ? or am i overlooking something

i originally had the problem of my mouse freezing when i installed the OLD version of 1.0.10 , when setting up the Keys . Only when i got to the KEY stage. This problem was on my PC's in my old Job , so i assumed it could be a update installed on the Machine ? I have never had the teachers Software Crash , Only when trying to use the Multiple Logon Feature as Described above it gives me hassle !

are you sure you have the latest 1.0.10 ? i had this problem before with the original 1.0.10 he released Now it works fine . Having a problem with Multiple userlogon though , If i try and logon all the machines using italc the service crashes on all the machines and so does my italc client

Hi Guys My documents are currently redirected back to C:\path\name\my documents i think ' grant exclusive rights to user ' is enabled . i have no problem setting permissions on the user name path but the My documents part wont allow me to touch it because i am not the owner . Is there a good automated way to do this using a VBS ? as i dont want to take owner ship of them all by hand. tried a few different ways so far but all they have done is changed the user name folders permissions.

Having looked around a few of the machines here , there seems to be loads and loads of these 002 002 etc were i assume this problem has been here before !... lucky i remade this image and profile

solved it using the Hive cleanup application . i had used it before when apache was keeping open some registry entrys open in my old job So looks like its now fixed thanks for your replys Sted

thanks for the info , just set the share information as a quicky to rule out the problem am i to understand that this is a normal problem then ? or is something broken with the way i have set this up !

Having never used them , i hope some one here can help Making a new desktop image for all my clients , everything is done , this is the most important and last thing to do ! demoted my 'testing profile' to user and had it copied over to the server as a mandatory profile , allowing Everyone access using the copyto feature in windows to a share. renamed ntuser.dat to NTuser.man made a test account , and set the profile path to the server share . on the share i allowed every one full access and under security users have full access. The problem The test user logs in and it pulls down the Mandatory profile ( i can verify this after .. by logging into the admin account and viewing the profile in profiles ) i can then create folders files etc on the desktop and log out ( seems to take a while?) i can then log back in , it has not removed anything i have created on the desktop. If i then go and reboot the machine .. and then log back in all the files are now deleted and it pulls down the profile again . I assumed at every logon the files and changes i make should be deleted ( desktops are not redirected btw ) Please help as its driving me mad making this desktop image !

If its the coil pack that has gone , the car will be running on less cylinders and have a Feelable missfire Unsure how many coil packs a 1.2 clio has but should be ok to drive home with a broken Coilpack , may run a bit crappy but shouldnt damage the car any more

out of intrest , what if one of her friends knows her password and is in the class ... and logged into facebook at that time and changed her stuff ( 9/10 gonna be the case) Do you have web address loggin ? if so you would be able to check from that !

Not sure if anybody is having the same problem as me with the new version After the install finishes , my mouse stops working and you have to logoff and back on for it to work Also after install when i want to open any of the italc programs , does the same thing ! Install with caution !

Very easy to install .. MSI zips it out to all clients. You then edit the settings in a GPO Another option would be.. Making a timed service to send a Shutdown RPC to all clients .

not sure if anybody has experianced this All working Perfect Except WHen i click a machine to allow student demo , There demo is perfect on my screen , refresh really nice etc But displayed on every one elses screen it does not refresh untill i click on mine So for example if the student loads up google.com unless i click some where it will not refresh all the other machines watching and still shows the desktop. ANy body else having this problem ?
