Any one experiencing this problem on new or existing installs of "Office 2016" on Windows 7 SP1. When i first load any office program it basically says "featured templates not available" I get a Schannel error 80 in event manager I have researched this a bit and apparently something to do with SSL, possible expired certifcate of some sort. This is the first windows 7 machine i have installed it on , im getting it ready for a 600pc push Not Windows 10 ready yet so 2019 cant be pushed out until thats done.
-
I recently went from 2010 - 2013 and planning to do the next jump to 2016 in the summer. I used quite a few guides to do the push and only experienced one day downtime. Most of the problems i experienced was the previous office/exchange 2010 build didn't use SMTP auto discover so the URL was hardcoded into the setup which meant scripting to remove the old profile etc. Another thing to watch out for is Domain Admin rights to OWA . I was trying to test OWA with my domain admin account which exchange 2013+ now does not like. Last problem i had was setting up a Outlook anywhere reverse proxy for exchange access outside of the local network. Yet again totally different to 2010 , and requires multiple DNS entrys like "autodiscover" accessible on the outside so make sure you get all your dns sorted first !.

How often do you hear - “Does Cloud really save money?”

Does what affect it ? being DDOs'd or being behind mitigation ? If we didnt have DDOS protection we wouldn't be able to upload or download with an attack of that size. Once mitigation is done ,our speed is still affected until the DDOS has stopped. Luckily we have caught the culprits a few times so it doesnt happen very often. -

IP Fragmentation, Total Traffic, UDP Thats what a Free Web based DDOS does to us, it doesnt affect our internal network Heres a bit more 9,993.0% of 500 pps 702.5 Mbps, 76.7 Kpps Our Mitigation kicks in , but can still take around 20 secs -

We have DDOS protection , but mitigation obviously still affects us . Most schools have sub 500mbit connections , any floods will overpower the line so internal firewalls will be no use and will require ISP intervention. ISP's ( where you haven't bought protection) will not be interested in helping. -
Are you using vmware by any chance for the PS ? Im wondering if by any chance you have the same problem as me and my exchange install with server 2019/vmware tools . read my post here Exchange 2007/2010- 2013 Migration - Slow loading of emails and mailbox ( Online mode) Try the TCP ack registry modification first , if that fix's it then put it back to normal and insteaad modify the vmware tools as posted.

How does "Cloud" backups work when a school is being bombarded with constant ddos attacks ? -
Sadly i have never used Hyper-V, Only vmware . Hoping some one will have an answer for you. Sounds to me it should be on a "Off Domain" host . Is there a reason why a Hyper-V host would be on a domain ?

Having recently upgraded the following 2008 R2 DC / Print Server / KMS 2008 R2 DC / DHCP Transfer DHCP to its own 2019 server Transfer the Print Server and KMS to a single 2019 server transferred all roles from both servers to the exisiting 2008 GC server Decommissioned one DC Setup a new 2019 DC ( using decommissioned name) , Joined and transfer all roles to new DC Decommission last 2008 DC Then setup another 2019 DC and transfer 1/2 the roles over. All this is fine assuming you have enough hardware resources In my opinion get a new server and run ESXI on it. If all the 2008 r2 server is doing is Domain controller dutys you should be able to do 99% of this while live !

Nick just installed a fresh version of 10.6, I assume this is still an issue since im also experiencing it ?

Also dont forget to see if the drivers for the printer is "Packaged" I noticed with server 2019 and windows 7 clients, if the driver is "False" under "Packaged" then the printer prompts to install a driver.
-
Im about to start upgrading our infrastructure from 2008 r2 . Probably going to do the domain controller and exchange migration first . Is there any problems with 2019 as a DC with windows 7 currently ? I imagine older GPs still work ?

We currently have a ton of kids in pre-admissions which are external sixth former's waiting to come in. None of the Sixth former's have UPN numbers ( will get them after they start id imagine) so they wont even upload to parentpay so we can give them a letter . I spoke to parent pay and they basically stated if i assign them a UPN number ( temporary) this means when we do finally get a UPN from a previous school it will create a duplicate parentpay account ! How does every one else handle their cashless till system ? otherwise these kids will be waiting a long time for food ! ( obviously this only applys to external sixth form as in year6 we get their UPNS right away) Thanks 2097

Do the macs have IPV6 enabled ? are you using it ? I would disable IPv6 on the client's nic and server, i would also disable the WIFI card if you are using Ethernet .
-
Are the macs not going through a proxy ? I believe smoothwall can bandwith limit URLS
-
I have actually moved away / Moving away from profile manager due to it being to unstable for AD/OD logins . I am now using Centrify . With that being said you can redirect keychains to TMP via Custom Settings as a MAC PC profile (non user) , here is some screenshots .
-
I would say buy neither . Buy a good PC ( or upgrade current) and get Oculus . VR is great ( echo arena is a great FREE game ) and the controllers are brilliant and really immerse you into the game .
-
Sounds like a DNS issue. The ipad if it has the correct DNS server should be able to ping a FQDN like your smooth-wall server ? If you cant resolve a simple DNS query such as the internal smoothwall server then i doubt it will be possible to join it to profile manager.
-
When using profile manager we used to redirect the keychain to a local "Tmp" folder so it was new at every logon, saved a lot of issues when kids changed their AD password and when they logged onto the Mac they had to renter their old password to fix the keychain. Basically by placing it on the local drive it saves all keychain issues ! no prompts or anything.

Just to note the Build ID is also missing So in the bios we have blank "Feature Byte" and "Build ID" *EDIT* Solved my own problem after reading my post . Turns out i can enter these into the bios ! with a HP press F10, once bios loaded "CTRL + A" then goto sytem IDs and start typing ! haha . Must think its a new Motherboard or something after the Bios update

Bought some brand new HP 260 G2 pc's . Having a slight problem as they require the battery to be pulled sometime which is annoying, fix seems to be update the bios ( Which i have done on a few pcs ) . Strange thing is once i do this update ( have tried a few different bios versions) it removes the Slic table from the bios so i can no longer use a OEM key to activate windows 7 . The machines come with windows 10 but allows the downgrade as the slic table is in the bios image Any one else had this problem with these machines? Starting to annoy the hell out of me !

Scrap that Pinging the printer from the switch does not seem to affect it . Seems to be a core issue with possibly just one of the cores ( switches in areas are trunked across two Cores) Just cant ping it down to why it seems only printers ? i would assume machines will also be going offline all the time.
-
We are using multiple Vlans 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.19.0 Each are routed to the same gateway ( core switch ) As of the past few weeks i have been having very strange printer issues ( and it only seems to be affecting printers and not all of them, i think its only Sharp and HP ) The printers will randomly not be pingable from any vlan apart from the vlan the printer is on ! , and because the print server is on another vlan the printers will show offline and they cant print. What i have found out is if when a printer is unpingable from "My office" vlan i can log into the switch of the offending printer and ping it from there and it comes back to life ! . Any one had this issue before ? seems to me like a "Core" issue as it seems vlan/gateway related.

Thanks for that will give it ago On a slightly different note, im starting to have problems with file sharing . Does the current OSx still limit SMB shares to 10 current users when sharing from the OS and not the Server APP . Reason i ask because High Sierra had moved SMB sharing back to the Server "Sharing" interface opposed to managing it from the "Server APP" and i read on pervious versions of the OS it limited SMB sharing to "10" connected users. I am wondering if this is the problem i am hitting !
