  1. just out of interest do these machines have a different group policy. if so have you tried dropping one into another ou or vica versa. to identify if its software or group policy etc
  2. Well this policy doesnt apply to plug and play drivers. However as your problem isnt behaving normally it might work: under computer configuration, windows settings, security settings, local policies, user rights assignment, "load and unload device drivers" or under administrative templates, system, driver installation, "allow non-administrators to install drivers for these device setup classes"
  3. Did you make any changes that you noticed suddenly cause this effect. I am trying to find any correlation between yours and mine. As they are so similar. P.s. I would love to find a solutions as its beginning to bug me now!! lol
  4. I currently have exactly the same problem same wireshark results.. more specificaly the workstations are looking for the old print server (only server we have changed) p.s. workstations have been re imaged since the change so should have no refrence to the old servers name. i would greatly apreciate a solutions.. in somecase looks like a network storm. But rather just a mass broadcast for the old server. i have been through everything group policies dns records nothing. p.s. happens on new windows 7 machines and xp machines.
  5. The guys are right. ping -t would give you the best results..
  6. group policy software restriction. a hash rule would do this.
  7. The next question would be is it the single group policy or the entire policy. Is security replicating?
  8. Could you explain in abit more detail you setup and what you are trying to achieve. As i have read your post through several times cant quite understand what the problem is. are you syaing users from the same domain log on and everythings fine and others have problems or only one domain is working?
  9. Could i sugest in group policy security settings. enable driver install for non administrators. or selected groups??
  10. How about something like this: bat file it checks if a text file is there if not launches sophos setup.. works good. " setlocal @ECHO OFF if exist "C:\check.txt" (goto End) else (goto Start1) :Start1 xcopy "\\server2\netlogon\check.txt" C:\ \\server2\InterChk\ESXP\Setup.exe -install -updp "\\server2\InterChk\ESXP" -user "DOMAIN\administrator" -pwd "Password" -mng yes :End Endlocal
